Hi all, I am interested in getting a dna 200 finally and bounce between a Panzer dna200, vaporshark and the Lavabox. I think I have mostly settled on Lavabox but have read some issues, most are from last year though. I was just wondering if some current owners could chime in and give their experience with the lavabox.

How is the screen cover and does anyone know if they have improved it or made it more scratch resistant? I read they maybe have improved it on the dna133 version, so curious about the 200 version.

Also battery rattle, is there much? No reviewer has said much about it from what I have seen but a few user reviews mention it and make it sound bad.

Thanks much for any info, it is hard to pull the trigger on $169 with only a 3 month warranty, but figured I would have better luck dealing with a company in the US and they have been around forever.

Vaporshark is another one and they have 120 day coverage but I hear about their coating and how it scratches off and they have no battery upgrade. Though still an option I guess.

Thanks again!

I just got rid of my Lavabox a few weeks ago. I only had a couple of issues with it. After about a month or so the screen started shutting off when the fire button was pressed. After going through escribe checking brightness, making sure it wasn't on stealth mode, etc., I think the button was pinching the connection between the screen and the board. I ran across a thread on evolv's forum about a guy who had the same problem with his. Aside from that my only complaints are cosmetic. It was the bone white version, and the finish started peeling off after a couple of weeks. They used a different kind of paint on the white than on the black or red ones. The screen cover definitely isn't scratch resistant. 24 and 25mm attys have a little bit of overhang, though it's barely noticable with the 24mm. Battery life is pretty bad, just like any 900mah lipo. It looks pretty cool though.

I had a Blood Red Edition for 5 months before it started to wig out. I bought it straight from Volcano and they agreed to replace it for me. The girl I spoke to said that they were out of stock on the Blood Red's and asked if I would take a white one instead. She told me it would be a couple of weeks before new stock would come in.

I sent my bad unit back to Volcano, waited a couple of days, and then gave them a call to verify. The girl told me that they were completely out of stock on everything. Needless to say, I was kind of ...... because they had promised me a white one. The girl said she was sorry and all that.

So, I told her I would go ahead and wait for the Blood Red's to come back in stock and she put me on "the list". Well, 2 days later, a white edition shows up at my door. IT IS A PIECE OF ....!! The paint started to come off with just normal use around the house. I feel like Volcano really ....ed me on this deal...never again.
