I'm getting my first E-cig (well 2nd if you count a $20 pos from 7-11).
Thinking about a lava tube. Can someone tell me how interchangeable the parts are? As in can I make it look bad***.
I might get one from TheVaporGirl I hope she is reliable.
If I weren't to get a lava, I'd like a different one from volcano
(Why volcano? I've browsed a billion sites and there are just to many options. And these guys seem big like Blu. Ill just use madvapes to buy parts...even though I'm completely new at this)

^I love Penny Saddler! She's definitely got some solid stuff! But I do also really like Volcano. Those are actually my two go to vendors. And Volcano does have the Chrome model. It's only $10 more and so sexy :2cool:

Anyway, the LT is completely customizable. You can use any 510 atty/carto/whatever on it. Things to know however, if you buy low res attys or carts, you're going to be stuck at a max of like 3.7 volts for vaping. There's a safety feature that won't let you vape higher than that with low res. Same for duel coil (this is a safety feature to keep you from blowing your face off) So parts you're going to want for this is either standard single coil res, if you'll like a mid range vape (4/4.5 volts), or high res single coil if you think you'll be rocking out 5+ volts. You could get both and try one of each

But yeah, any 510 threaded device you can use just fine. Make sure the batteries are compatible. You absolutely want vented batteries Lithium rechargables, AW high drain is recommended. No reason to take chances. Never ever ever use a sealed battery.

Vapor Girl's LavaTube kit includes a 3 ml tank.

Haha, I love her Description:

"This is the Genuine, FULL LavaTube kit! The body and 2 batteries, the soft padded zippered case, and a DCT 3ml Tank. With an outrageous price like this, you might want to pick up two kits today! This is The Vapor Girl's introductory price for her beloved customers. This completely variable voltage beauty will keep you going for days, I mean like 3 days! It's 3000 mAh so you might want to pick up a couple of my 6ml tanks to go with this big hunk of love. You will never want to put it down once you get your hands on it. And with The Vapor Girl's quick shipping, it'll be in your hands FAST. Available in Black, silver, and possibly customized by my special designer... email for details!"

Hahahaha, well she certainly is cheerful. I'm not 100% sure I'd be comfortable putting a 3000mAH battery in a LT though. Most vendors sell them with around 1600 mAH. I'm thinking there's probably a reason for that. Maybe not, I could be wrong.

But I mean it does look like a good deal. I haven't seen a kit available with a tube take, that's pretty cheap all things considered with the tank, and extra atty. Although, the tank is duel coil. If her Lava Tubes have the built in safety feature (Don't they all?), you won't get more than 3.7 volts on that most likely. That's not a very powerful vape.

Idk, I just don't see the point of duel coil and low res attys and cartos, when you have a device capable of 6 volts output. Aren't those devices meant to make lower voltage (nonvariable) mods vape like they run at higher voltage?

Thoughts from a new LavaTube user (and new vaper). I got a LT as my first "proper" PV after I used minis. Get the LT that tells you the resistance of your devices, the one linked earlier from Pennies looks like a good price. DON'T get the earlier versions (like the ammzon one linked just above) as they aren't quite as good (basically knowing the *actual* resistance of your atomiser lets you set the voltage to get the power that you like to vape at accurately - some say they are X on the label but are actually a little out.

the point of VV is being able to control the Watts (Power) that you vape at. The 'sweet spot' of power varies a little according to user preference, and the juice being vaped, but it's usually around 9watts. 3.7 running a 1.7ohm dual coil gets you to 8watts ish which isn't quite high enough but is reasonable.

I'm using a ViviNova tank with a 2.4 head on it which gives me a really nice vape. A carto tank will mean you need to either buy pre punched cartomisers, and/or punch/slot your own cartos, which is easy enough to do but something you need to consider. You need to drip into atomisers all the time which I find is a PITA.

The build quality on LavaTubes is OK. It's not great, but then at the price you pay for them it's perfectly acceptable. I'd like to upgrade but I am not about to spend huge amounts on a ProVari anytime soon, I'll probably wait for the next generation of variable wattage devices before I spend that much on my next mod (and wait for the money I'm saving vaping compared to smoking to stack up a little first)

tl:dr. Buy a newer version LavaTube that shows the resistance of your device, and run single coil standard resistance heads on it to get the most out of it. Dual Coil and low res setups don't work as well on a LavaTube as a standard type of head setup will.
