I'm getting slightly annoyed with leaking atomizers....
It seems that they either leak and gurgle or produce a disgusting dry, hit never in between.

So i decided to give cartos one more try. I had some regular resistance lying around, but they just dont do it for me.. seems like im inhaling air, no throat hit, no flavour.

I need help.

Right now i use a 3.7 SB with a mix of 510 LR atties, GH1 LR, IKV LR, some from altsmoke and happyvaper (im gonna guess both are joytech)

I want to try something different. what would match the flavour and TH of a LR atty and not freaking leak??

A few things im looking at right now are:

the ato-miser: almost perfect i think, but doesnt work with driptips unless hacked with a dremel so no top feeder ability which is important as i spend a lot of time in the car.

scubagenv3: that seems ideal, its rebuildable, seems to work as an atomizer and has a tank. but its hard to obtain.. the ones for sale are over $120, id build one myself if i had access to the main body parts

iatty: i dont care what anyone says but the rumoured about price hike to around $200-$250 is BS, even if it gives blowjobs i wouldnt pay that much money!!!

Any carto-based tank: the issue with those is the cartos.... is there anything out there thats as good as or close to an lr atty??

ego-t kit: looked at it, its ok if it works, but not a big fan, expensive parts.

So before i make my credit card fall in love with me again and sell a kidney and my future first-born by ordering one of everything, is there anything i should try? How is the flavour and TH on LR cartos?? what about smoketech dualcoil? Any other contraptions out there i should look at??

Thanks

I'm like you, keep searching for the right combination. Nearly everything I try seems to have one design flaw or another. I love tanks, just not the atty's that come with them. Found several cartos I like quite a bit, but you have to buy 10 to get 5 good ones.

Awhile back I took several different types to a guy I know who is an engineer deluxe. As we took each one apart he'd always say, "well here's the problem right here". He then mentioned a few ideas that might solve some of the issues and the ideas really made good sense to me. Trouble is, they'd be really expensive to produce.

So I'm stuck with "pretty good" for now, but know there's lots of room for improvement.

510 attys aren't bad (leakwise) if you use on a pv with a catch cup. The excess leaks down into the cup and you can just suck it back up in it when you need to. How many drips are you dripping? I drip 3 drips down the drip tip and vape several times and drip again. It does take a bit of practice. I learned by using cartridges.. I would drip 7-8 drops into the cartridge then a couple into the atty. After awhile I bought a driptip (this was a year ago!) and decided to just drip straight into the atty.

I've seen the smoketeck dual coils in action (at madvapes) and even have one.. but haven't used it yet. I've heard they are best if used at 5v. I've never heard anything good about the ego-T.. seems that they always leak, or evenutally do.

What I really love is the 901 atty. With a drip shield from empiremods, it doesn't leak at all. But I've had problems with them dying (ONE DAY!) lately so even though I keep using them and trying to see what is making them die, I can't recommend them anymore.

I like to drip and I do it successfully but it's so inconvenient to carry around a bottle all the time..not to mention trying to drive.

Hope I've helped a little bit.

@Denich - I am not sure which atty you are using but I am a big 306 fan. I also love my Darwins. Being an overzelous dripper the 306's and the Darwins without a catch cup just did not get along well for me. I have been using cartos on those units. Mostly Iken Fusions and some Iken V2's. Then I found the DCA. Now the 306's and the Darwins are now getting along great! This little unit is amazing. I have tried to make it leak! I hit it with 12 drops and you would think it would gurggle like crazy and leak all over. It doesn't. It really does work. He is out of stock now but here is the link:

I rarely have an atty leak problem. (like you, I dont do cartos) I'm using a PV for 2.5 years and have been a dripper nearly all that time. I can sense in the first couple of seconds of the drag whether there is enough liquid in there or not. I never drip more than 2 drops either. Technique aside, liquid WILL build up over the course of the day though. Two things I've learned to rely on to prevent a drippy mess is the eGo cone and how it traps excess liquid inside until you are ready to clean it out. And this item, the drip shield...

MAP Edition Empire Drip Shield

This is an adapter for the eGo cone that I use on a couple of mods...

510-eGo Cone Adapter

I haven't used that particular adapter (from that vendor) but I have used one from Provape. I would assume they are the same. With the eGo setup I do a cleanout once a day. With the drip shield I can go a couple of days. So before you go out and buy all sorts of stuff, these are a couple of real cheap alternatives that should solve the problem. =)

I haven't used my ego for anything other than cartos in a looong time. I agree, it does do wonders to catch the leaks and I loved that! I love my empiremods drip shield also! The ego cone adaptor mentioned above.. I wonder if it will allow me to fit an ego cone over an atty on say, a box mod.. something other than the ego. I ordered something from madvapes back awhile ago that I thought would do this but it wasn't what I thought it was. I love the draw of a carto on an ego with the cone and I'd love to be able to get that same thing with a reg box mod.
