hey all.
I work as a ski patroller in western canada, I've been vaping for a year now and I've run into some issues with my tanks leaking. As a ski patroller I am constantly going up and down the mountain and therefore the air pressure is always changing slightly. I've had times where I've started at the top of the mountain with a full tank and as the pressure increases with descent it must do so in the tank as well and a majority of juice leaks out. Seems to be happening the worst with my protank 3. The theory makes sense to me, might be completely wrong. Some of the other folks I'm working with that vape, have the same issue, and that's what we came up with as to why.

Just curious if anyone has run into this problem and if anyone has any advice or knows of any modifications I could make to maybe help/prevent these leaks?! Starting to go through juice pretty darn fast

Yeah, this totally happens, when you're moving up into lower pressures--riding the lifts or taking a flight on the plane.

Advice: stow your device upside down. That way the pressure differential will just equalize instead of pushing the juice out. You might see some minor leakage but nothing like your tank emptying out. In my experience rebuildable tanks like the kayfun leak less often when turned upside down.

Yeah, altitude is a real problem. My friend put her tank into her laptop bag for a flight....totally stained her brand new laptop and leaked everywhere. I've noticed it happening to me too on fights, even when I semi prepare. I've found that separating the tank into a secure ziplock (or 2) is the only way to be safe when flying.

In your situation, geez that is tough. I would do some research into a very-very leak proof tank just for work. I just got the new Anyvape Peakomizer 2 tank, and it has a pretty ingenious design in how you secure it. I'm not sure how it holds up into real-world testing yet, but I think tank designers will be making some truly leak-proof soon, if it doesn't exist already.

Okay. Assumed there must be some other folks on here that have encountered this issue.aha.

I will definitely have to try storing my tanks upside down. Makes sense that it should equalize itself that way (should have thought of that)
Ive got several pairs of ski pants and jackets that have some oily juice stains on them but jeez i would be choked had they leaked on my laptop.

I will definitely have to take a look around for a more "leak proof" tank. And do some research on the cartos mentioned as well. I would think it is pretty much impossible to create a 100% leak proof tank, I dont mind the trade off for quitting smoking!

Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated !

This is a good thread/question. I'm about to fly to Oklahoma next week and am trying to figure out what to take on my carry on. (I'm putting the empty Reo and Billet Box in my check in to assemble when I get there)

I was going to carry my Provari but the toppers are the question. I manly use ibtanked cartotanks but have Protanks and Nautilus tanks as well.

Any thoughts?

with standard air locked tanks, you should be seeing he leakage occur when you ascend ( air pressure decreases in ambient terms making the air pressure higher in the tank thus pushing the fluid out) 2 easy solutions, turn the tank upside down when making altitude changes or get an RSST type tank... ( RSST tank doesnt rely on pressure changes/airlock to work)

Thank you. I keep my setup in a large zip case so I think just flipping it upside down would be easiest.

Also now that I think about it, ibtankeds come in "thingys", so if I just keep them in those with the caps on all should be well.

I think this may work! Thanks! One less thing to worry about! Now just hoping they don't try to take it away during screening! I think that's my biggest concern. Though it doesn't sound common at all.

Cartomizers no leaks from altitude.

they breathe and equalize pressure well.

leaving your tanks/clearos in a car and it getting warm will also cause leakage. But again cartos are fine.
Ok. I didnt know if it was different for cartotanks. But I guess it wouldn't matter as its still just a cartomizer but with a tank wrapped around it.

Thanks for the response.

Not carto tanks but cartomizers with no tanks. I think all tanks will leak from altitude change.
Ok. Ill figure something out. Like I said they come in "thingys" so maybe sealing them upside down in those will help.
