I'm not an electrician at all, but inside that charger, something is happening to make it change from red to green. And it seems to me like someone with basic electronics knowledge could probably kludge something up so that instead of one light that changes colors, a second light could come on when it's green. (Or when it's red, either way.)

The chargers are cheap, around $5 if I remember right. Maybe you could get a spare and find someone who could take it apart and add a new light?

Here's my thought. While I haven't opened up my usb charger, generally the mulit-color LEDs have 3 (or more) contacts.

So a quick mod I believe would be to re-route the green LED lead to another separate LED. Negative (or ground) would stay the same, so you connect the new LED to the same negative lead as the original LED. Disconnect the GREEN lead and attach it to the positive of the new LED.

Baddabing. You now have two separate LEDs for charging and charged.

I went to a local shop that only sells eGo stuff and regular 510 stuff. The chargers they had look absolutely identical to what I have. I also know that my Riva copies eGo in both design and features. I can't say that it works, but I am confident that it is a possibility.

One thing, it doesn't blink, it kind of "pulses". I don't know how to describe it, it just kind of slowly gets more intense, cycles back to a lower amount of light, repeats. It is pretty obvious though, I don't think I would miss it if my charger was only one color, or I was colorblind. Check out Liberty Flights, I believe it is there generic charger for large 510 style batteries.

I have one of those, and agree it kind of pulses - but I don't think there'd be any doubt when it's done and steady on, no matter what color. Great suggestion.
