I got a lemo a few weeks ago and I cant seem to get this thing working right. Everybody seems to like it and says its better than the kayfun so I really want to give it a shot. I have 2 Kayfuns and both provide much better flavor than the lemo so I must be doing something wrong. I usually use a micro coil 1/16 on my kayfun with 28g kanthal around 1.4 and use japanese cotton and push the cotton on the sides of the deck and it works great.

With the lemo it took me multiple times just to get the coil to read. When I finally got it to read the coil there was almost no flavor. The vapor was fine, no burnt taste but just little to no flavor. I then decided to try a bigger coil around 3mm and every time I screw the coil down the coil gets all bent out of shape. I guess this is because the 3mm coil (7 wraps) is not as many wraps as the micro coil (12 wraps) and is easily bent. I cant catch the wires under the screws so I wrap them all the around the screws and then screw down. Is there an easy way to trap the wire without wrapping all the around the screw? My wire just slips out all the time. Will a bigger diameter coil make the lemo have the better taste or will it work fine with the micro coils that I use in my Kayfuns? I have gone through 5 coils just trying to get it screwed down and its irritating as ..... Thank for any help

Yeah, a 1/16" coil doesn't cut it for the Lemo. Bigger is better, although I don't personally go as large as 3mm. For me it's a 2.2-2.4mm contact coil, usually using 26ga wire for use at 20-25 Watts.

My preference is to do exactly what you do, and wrap the leads around the screw heads to keep them from coming loose. But the Lemo has the option of trapping the leads in the holes in the sides of the block. So you have options.

Keep the bit that you used to wrap the coil on inside the coil as you mount it. That will keep it from deforming as you mount it.

The flavor from the Lemo should be every bit as good as a Kayfun, and for me, it's been even better. Probably one of the best atomizers for flavor that I've used.

I would like to use a smaller size coil than 3mm but I use the artistic wire coiling gizmo and the rod sizes are 3mm and 1/16. I have tried doing it on screwdrivers and drill bits but I am horrible at making the coils that way. Every time I try to mount the coil with the holes instead of the wrapping around the screws the wire snaps when tightened down. How many ohms are your coils?

Its all about practice and more practice. I used the side holes to insert the wire, took a few tries but now i get it right the first time.

And yes, you need bigger coil with higher Gauge wire; 24-26 and around 1ohm. Im running 24g at 0.6ohm and 3.4mm. And juice tastes as if i was drinking it.

I guess i will have to get some 26 gauge. I just got 50 feet of 28 2 days ago but it is cheap so thats good. Do you always use the side holes and do you every snap the wire? The screws always snap my wire when tightened. Do you tighten all the way down?

Definitely don't screw all the way down! Only screw down a little bit until you feel resistance. When using the side holes the screws actually stick up quite a bit.

The wire that came with the Lemo is 26 gauge, try some of that! I like a .6 to .8 ohm 2.4mm contact coil on a mech. The Lemo is easily my favorite RTA.

edit: I should add... Pick yourself up a $5 set of yellow handle Stanley Micro Screwdrivers from Wal-mart and a Bernzomatic microtorch (about $15 with butane from Home Depot) and a pair of steel tweezers. Wrap as good a microcoil as you can, pinch with the tweezers and torch the coil until it glows orange for a few seconds. That's one way to make nice tight and perfect coils.

I always use holes on all mods. I dont gorilla tighten my screws and with 24g wire its impossible to break it when screw it down.

But i have broken 28g a few times on my RDA, but it has larger screws and i wasnt paying attention the first 2 times.
