Lemon Juice That Won't Spoil

After procrastinating for some time, I finally got around to adding concentrated lemon juice (from those plastic lemon shaped containers) in my fruit mixes and really like the effect it has. Unfortunately, this product is supposed to be refrigerated after opening which doesn't give me a great deal of confidence for mixes that may sit around for a month or more.

So the question is, which concentrated lemon juice has the longest, non-refrigerated, shelf-life and is effective in recipes?

I think that you are SOL. Unless stored under inordinately hot temps, I don't worry about leaving those plastic lemons outside the frig.
They were never refrigerated when I was a kid and that was eons ago! It's like vinegar.. What would have the cajones to grow there?

Is this a situation where something like Citric Acid would be a better choice? Or would this eventually break down the same as the concentrated lemon juice?
