With my 901 arriving shortly i feel i'm going to enjoy vaping and will be doing it for a long time.

I don't really want to hear of the success of your e-cig or your mod's but more from those veteran smokers and how it has affected your live!

Feel free to post how it's helped your health etc, i'm mainly looking for personal experiences like if your health picked up and you was able to take your children out for a day-trip to the waterpart and actually participate with them.. Just stuff you wouldn't be able to do when you was smoking.. Well you get the drift anyhow :)

I've been off the cigs for a little over a month now, and my sense of smell and taste have improved immensely. I had developed a cough and some mild but persistent congestion this past year, after they switched us to the fire-safe cigs. Within a couple of days of starting to vape exclusively, those were both gone. I feel like I have more energy, and noticed I didn't run out of gas when out shoveling snow the other day. I still have a few packs of cigs laying around, but have had absolutely no temptation to light one up. I am certain that would not be the case with any other method - the e-cig has given me willpower I never had before.

I was actually just going to post--my first post--a success story. I was happy to see a thread already started. I just got my first electronic cigarette, a 510 ordered from healthcabin.net, this morning, and so far, it is everything I wanted it to be. It's not the same as smoking, but it's pretty darn close enough.
At about 4 in the afternoon, I decided to see how far I could get without picking up an analog, and I've made it over four hours now! It's sad to say it, but that's a major accomplishment for me. I'm a cigarette fiend! And it's a major argument for keeping these things obtainable.
Good luck to you when you get your 901! I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.

36+ years at as much as 2+ packs a day and down to 1+ when my first PV arrived and I haven't touched an analog since my very first vape. That's more than 6 weeks ago and here's what I've noticed -

First thing, no withdrawal symptoms whatsoever. My very first night I slept better than I have in many years. My ancient smokers cough was gone after 2 days. I noticed I could smell things better and things tasted better after just 3 days. By the end of the first week I could take in a deep breath of air without any discomfort, breathing just started to seem easier, and I did not get winded doing some of the simpler things like getting dressed or taking a shower (yes, smoking was really starting to affect me after so many years).

By the second week I actually started to notice the smell or actually the "stink" of cigarette smoke much easier and actually be able to smell the "smoke smell" on people and realized that's what I used to smell like. I was the last smoker in a house of 4 smoking adults (the wife quit 8 years ago, my daughter quit with Chantix last summer and my son recently quit with Chantix). My truck was smelling much better inside as was my workshop/garage. The house hasn't smelled better either. I had thought about my analogs from time to time still sitting in the drawer, but by now have actually forgotten about them completely. Around this time I also got a case of the flu/cold. I usually only get this once every 3-4 years. It started at 9:00 p.m. one night and by 10:00 p.m. I was at a temp of 100.8°. By midnight my temp was 103.0°, by 2 a.m. it was back down to 100.1 and by 8:00 a.m. it was back to normal and I was fine.

After 3 weeks I noticed that I can laugh hard, really hard without feeling light-headed and out of breath (that's scary). I noticed by now I've actually lost a couple of pounds too. I have more energy and seem to accomplish more throughout my day because I am no longer taking my extended "smoke-breaks" and I'm not tiring so easily. By now food is really tasting so much better and I look forward to my meals.

I've now got a bunch of Loranns flavorings, no-flav-nicotine, PG, VG, multiple flavors, mixing supplies, a Joye 510 with all the trimmings and I am one happy camper. For anyone new to this and has any doubts whatsoever, what more could you ask for? I KNOW that I have made perhaps one of the best decisions/choices in my life by vaping and even if it adds just one extra day to my life - I am very thankful for it!

Congrats to all the new ones and to all those who continue to vape to a healthier life!

I quit smoking with a 510. Within the first few days I was completely off analogs. I can sing better, and breathe better. I have more energy too. I wasn't even trying to quit smoking. My wife turned me on to it. She never smoked and doesn't like the smell. Someone in her office at a government building she works at vapes in the building at work and she found out about it from him. This is the best invention ever. Absolutely the greatet thing have ever bought in my life. Sometimes I take a drag of an analog just to show smokers my ugly face when I gag on it. Then I go back to enjoying my 510 smiling.

Woah shortstuff, without sounding bad it seems like them analogs had almost killed you off!

I was thinking about researching e-cig's in depth to make sure they are ok to smoke all the time, but everyone here has had such positive results it's hard to ignore!

Anyone had side effects (doubt it) apart from being allergic to the PG/EG/whatever it's called lol :D

No, you're not sounding bad at all. It was a decision (to smoke) that I made way too many years ago. All the bad that came with smoking is my fault and no one elses. Nobody held a gun to my head and made me smoke, it was all my idea and choice. I went through a career in the military and retired still smoking. Yes, you are absolutely right, cigarettes were getting their tallons into me in more ways than one, but I've been very lucky in that I've lived a life with a very good imune system and so far have been very lucky they haven't killed me. I can only wish I quit soon enough to enjoy life with my wife of 33 years just a little bit longer.

I personally haven't noticed any side effects yet. Oh I did get some throat iritation which I've narrowed down to too much PG, so now I use almost all VG and no more throat problems. Other than that - nothing.

A good friend in NC is the one who introduced me and got me started with vaping and I will forever be greatful to him. I only hope that perhaps I can return the favor to someone else some day. I don't care what the government or any other entity says about our "e-cigs" - they are a life saver. Period. Not only are there many physical advantages to vaping, but psychologically too. I've actually started thinking about doing things that I gave up on some time ago!

I just quit this Sunday and I just noticed my taste has improved. That or Wendy's is making some AWESOME burgers ;) Anyways, I can't say much for the other stuff, except phlegm when I wake up doesn't seem as prevalent, and now I notice that my car smells like ....

The big thing is, I'm 28, and I have tried to quit smoking I think 4 times in my life(actual attempts) going cold turkey and using the patch. I usually only lasted a month. That included cheating like a .... the first week, and then the awesome as always 'I'll just have one' at the end of the month.

Dead serious, I started vaping Saturday night at about 11:30pm. Got up the next day vaped until I had to go to work, and tried(TRIED) to smoke a real cig. I've been smoking Pall Mall ultra lights for the last 5 years or so, switched from Marlboro Ultras, because the cost was getting out of hand. I couldn't finish the cig. ONE NIGHT and half a morning of vaping, and I seem to be done with smoking. I'm completely shocked.

I was skeptical when I ordered it, and some on this forum have not had the luck that I have. I will tell you though, as a smoker for 12 years, I really did not think that this would be easy AT ALL.

I just put in an order to V4L and I do not see myself ever turning back.

Now just to figure out what the hell I'm gonna do with this half carton of smokes that are in my car...

Forgot to mention that I still have on craving here and there and it took me a few days to pinpoint it. At first I thought I was wanting a cig, then I realized that I just wanted to go outside! Now trust me, with -20 windchill, I most certainly do NOT want to go outside, but the ritual is ingrained. So thought I would let people know who are trying to kick it, but find this little side effect messing with them what it is, so you don't go back to smoking!

Used to smoke as many roll ups as I could in a day - 40 to 50 usually. I researched on ECF at the beginning of June and ordered a minipipe. The PV arrived on the 9th of June 2009 and I had my last turd in the car on the way home from work that day - I have not touched a single cigarette since!!

PS Spent a fortune on PVs though!!!!

When a friend first started talking to me about ecigs I was smoking 2+ packs a day. I went for my regular doctor's appt, BP was 230/110 and my heart rate was in the 120's, and that's on some pretty heavy medications for BP and tachycardia. I talked to my doc about the ecig that day, he called my cardiologist and the two of them looked it up on the computer and discussed it. he came back in and told me to go for it. As soon as I started vaping I dropped to just 5 cigs a day. Before long it was 3 and within a couple of months I was down to zero. MY BP and heart rate immediately went to normal levels and a lung condition that I have because of an accident has improved significantly. Right now my BP is a little wonky but thatis from another medical issue. I would hate to see what it would be if I was still smoking. Oh yeah, for the new medical issue, my neurologist wants me to continue to vape. He says nicotine actually helps with what I have. I hate to think what the outcome would be if I hadn't' started vaping. Thanks Steph!

Take the jump. You thank yourself for it.

LOL This is why I'm glad I bought by the pack and not by the cartons.

I'm still going through baby steps.... was a smoker for 8 yrs, cut down from 1 1/2 pack a day to 4 or so a day thanks to vaping. I hope at some point I can find the right 24mg to my liking, enough to kick the analogs. But to me its an achievement.

I smoke about 10-15 hand-rolled, unfiltered, throat-searing cigarettes a day (a lot more if I'm drinking and socializing) and LOVE IT.

My 510 arrived today at about 2:00pm.

It's now midnight. Not only have I not smoked an analog, I have no desire to do so.

Not only do I have no desire to do so, but I've smoked 0-nicotine e-juice the majority of the time.

To me, that's a success of absurd proportions.

:)

1 - 2 Pack a day Marlboro Red smoker for 30 years.

I did stay in pretty good shape (as much as one can be in, when they smoked as much as I did, lol), playing tennis 4-5 times a week, tournament level.

Within 2 weeks, I noticed my lung capacity had increased dramatically! I was no longer instictively trying to hit winners and get the point over with, knowing I didn't have the wind to go through long points, over and over. Now, I'll pound ground strokes with the 20 somethings, and grind out points, wearing those youngsters down.

I do a tennis cardio hour once a week, and it's hitting a lot of balls, and a lot of movement. The goal is to elevate your heart rate, and keep it elevated, without pushing the rate past the point of no return (ankle grabbing)... I knew I was getting through the hour much better, but when other people started making comments about my extra energy, I realized that switching from analogs to vaping 100% of the time, had some pretty immediate impact on my cardio capacity!

I can only say thank God for these forums, and give it a go! After all, the only thing you have to lose is your life? :)

1/2 to 1 full pack Pall Mall Reds smoker for 10 years. The first day I got my 510 from cignot, I had the same experience as nazkira, those first two days (Until both my batteries died at roughly the same time), I had absolutely no inclination to light up an analog.

I've had my 510 for about a week now, with roughly 120mL of various flavored juices, and I have had probably 4 analogs in the past week.

4/week > 10/day.

I'd say that's awesome!

I just have to get a USB Passthrough, and more batteries.

I smoked a pack a day for 30 years. Yesterday was my 11 month anniversary of not smoking tobacco. I had an e-cig but didn't start using it until I finished my last analog. The key for me was not to buy any more. When I finished my last one the next time I wanted one I started using the e-cig instead and havn't smoked an analog since then. Havn't even wanted one either.

I have been analog free for about a month not even a drag, this in itself is amazing to me. Recently I was real sick lasted for about 2 weeks and am now over it, I can smell things much better, taste is back, more energy, hangovers are not as bad, and one thing I have noticed and this may sound strange but my lungs feel clean or less tight so that is a good thing. Anyway hopefully e cigs dont turn out to be bad for us so we can continue using them. GL and Welcome!!!

My God! With just this sampling of personal results, how can the FDA, national and state governments, non-smokers, and ex-smokers say these aren't good for you? It defies logic.
Same success stories here with my wife and me. Smoked over 40 years; e-cigs arrived; never smoked another analog cigarette. It's been 5 months. BP has improved, taste and smell so much better, better lung capacity and breathing, no smoker's cough, and the benefits go on and on.
