Each Monday will be a new chain game!! Come and relax and play with us!! How long can we keep it going?

For this week's chain game I would like you to post your "life hacks." "Life hacks" are tips and tricks you have that save time, money, resources, etc. They can be really clever. They can add a new use to something you already have. I've come across a few pages of these from facebook and I love to read them. I thought we could share our favorites!! :)

Post a pic or just write about one of your favorite "life hacks."

I used this one to light our jack o lanterns at halloween :)

Well, okay... on the spaghetti theme then.

I was making dinner and had several pots going on the stove. I decided I could simmer my sauce in the crockpot. Since then, I have never simmered it on the stove again. I no longer get all that splattering mess and the crockpot heats it from all directions so I need less stirring to begin with as there are no hot spots. I still start it all on the stove of course, but for that long simmering stage save yourself the mess.

That sounds awesome!! I hate cleaning off splattered spaghetti sauce from the stovetop lol. Why do you have to start it off on the stove first though? I may actually use this tip, thank you!!!

To saute the onions and stuff, just to get it all mixed up and to the simmering stage. But the long simmer stage is where I always get splattering since you have to stir it, and that is where the crockpot comes in. But to tell you the truth, I have done it with jarred sauces also when I had enough time to heat it through in a crockpot.

Here's another one for those of us that use Riva or ego Batts, ever have the button fall off on you, has happened to me a bunch of times. instead of carefully opening it and trying to fix it, do this.

grab a match, cut or break it in half.
Use the half that does NOT have the part that ignites
fold it in half and place it in where the button used to be (no need for tape or anything, the preasure keeps it in place).
If it eventually falls, make another one, my hasn't fallen out in more the a week.

Here is a crappy picture showing my battery with the fix (my webcam sucks) :p
