Thanks y'all. We show, have "just" pets and rescue. So we've got a houseful. LOL Five cats too. hahaha (They keep finding us as tiny kittens. I swear we have a sign that only cats can see over our house that says "Come HERE" LOL)

Rudy...I know MANY Chessies. My step son and his wife have a Chessie named Belle. I'm from MD. It's the State Dog...named after the Chesapeake Bay. And yes, there's some Newf bred in their lines for the water prowess, strength and power.

We really started breeding Labs about 35 years ago...then switched to Goldens about 20 years ago, and then stopped breeding entirely about 8 years ago. We switched breeds to Newfs 7 years ago and considered it with Molly (the black and white-Landseer), and then I just decided it was too risky. Newfs don't "breed" easily like Labs and Goldens do. Lots of potential for problems. So after we finished showing her, we spayed her. Now all my show dogs are males, and they're the only two intact dogs in the house (they have to be intact to show). LOL Can collect semen, ship it, and let someone else do the breeding.

Willow will be eleven this year. She's a rescue poodle from a backyard breeder situtation. She's very shy but loves kitties. I lovingly tell her that she's made of defective poodle parts. She had to have 3 surgeries the first month that I got her. She has degenerative disc disease, which is really slowing her down as she ages but I lurves her.

Lucy walked through the automatic doors at the Library, where my housemate works. Lucy has been with us less than 2 months. Offically, she's my housemate's dog but since my housemate works full-time and is finishing up her degree, I'm clicker training Lucy.
