My wife is big on the LGBT community and EQUAL. I think everyone she knows smokes or vapes.. we've pushed vaping to many of her friends..

The problem with e-cigarettes, regardless of health concerns, is that they're just _so_ lame. E-cigarettes are such loser, poser, stupid things to be seen with. Everyone is laughing at you, either openly or behind your back. Everyone. Really.

I wanted to ask if her mommy knows she's on the internet again, and tell her to do her homework and clean up her room. I doubt she could be older than 13.

According to a study done by the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine at the University of Geneva in Switzerland, 22 percent of people who switched to the e-cigarette stopped smoking after one month, and 46 percent quit smoking after one year.

All those numbers are dependent on the type e cigs one gets and the desire to quit smoking. If you get one of those twee-be, super cool, nerdy, child appealing ones they really haven't proven to be a quitting device but may, probably be a gateway to smoking, well, you just won't know. <sarcasm alert>

That's exactly why those on their high horse about "cigarette smokers" on this forum should rethink their "stinkies" comments. They are just on a different part of their journey.

Essentially, this bill subjects non-smoking New Yorkers to the very atmosphere the Smoke-Free Air Act was designed to eliminate. Adding insult to injury, the council suggests that e-cigarette users are now a bad public influence because they made a positive health decision.

And actually, I am happy that the gay community is joining the fight pro e-cigs in NYC.
Heck... gays and lesbians have A LOT of experience with being demonized, spit at, hated and oppressed - simply for the personal choices that they make in their own personal lives.

Now.. that DOES have something in common with vapers, eh?
If you look at the pure hatred being spewed at vapers in some comments to some online newspaper articles, you will definitely be reminded of the pure hatred being spewed at gays and lesbians.

And the haters have exactly the same motivation: that there are people out there who make personal choices that are not under the control of those haters.
