Ordered my new Provari on Tuesday, two 18490 batteries, extender cap. I purposely didn't get the charger. I'm sure it's a fine charger, but was planning to get the Nitecore I4 from another vendor for just a few dollars more ...but, THEN I FORGOT! Arg! So, now, my Provari is due to arrive in the mail tomorrow and I have no way to charge the batteries. Double Arg!
Looking around locally for a temporary substitute until my Nitecore arrives next Tuesday, found a 'universal' Li-Ion charger at Radio Shack: Enercell® Universal Li-ion, Ni-Cd and Ni-MH Charger. It doesn't have great user review ratings - pretty dismal reviews, in fact, all over the 'net - and it's expensive for a 'temporary substitute' (nearly twice as much as the Nitecore!), but desperate times demand desperate measures.
Does anyone know if this charger will charge the 18490 batteries? Everything seems to indicate it will, if it works at all. I'm also going to call Batteries Plus on Friday (everyone is closed today) and see if they have something - I didn't see anything on their website, though - and I vaguely remember someone suggesting looking at hobby stores that sell remote-control airplanes/cars/etc for the batteries, maybe someone like that in the area would have a charger? Any other ideas?
Or, maybe, I'll just wait until next Tuesday ...*sigh* I wish I could say this is the first time my early onset alzheimer's has caused me grief ...
