After 9 months of Fighting with the Washington State Industrial Compensation Board about my Major Loss of Hearing, I finally won my case! :) On Monday I will be going to my Hearing Specialist and I will be walking out with a set of High Tech Hearing Aids. :) The State is paying for them, the batteries and all of the accessories! :) They will also be replacing the hearings aid batteries and hearing aids for the Rest of my Life! :)

It will be so wonderful to be able to hear the birds singing again, Tree Frogs croaking and also to hear and understand what people are saying without having to struggle to read lips! :) Life is going to be Great! :)

For all of you out there that work in a High Noise Environment Like I did, Get your hearing tested Every year (it's Free) Keep good records, and when you retire make sure that you again get your hearing tested. If you have a Hearing Loss IMMEDIATELY FILE for a Hearing Loss Claim with your State Industrial Compensation Board!

I didn't know that when I retired so I just struggled along with my hearing loss and I screwed myself out of a Major amount of Money! Had I filed a claim within 2 years I would have been allowed a Hearing Loss Compensation of $25,000, plus Free Hearing Aids for LIFE! :( Plus, I caused myself a lot of stress by struggling to hear and then the Fight to get a Hearing Loss Claim! :(

Please let all of your friends and Family Know this information!

Thanks everyone! :) I can hardly wait for Monday! :) The Hearing Specialist I am going to let me try a set of Oticon brand hearing aids out for 7 days. :) It was like I had been Reborn! :) I could hear things that I haven't heard in many years and my wife had to ask me to turn the TV up so she could hear it! I normally have to have the TV set at almost maximum! :(

Oticon has WONDERFUL hearing aids. They also have streamers that can link to your cell phone and TV with the option of a small external mic that another person can wear. All three of those devices stream directly to your hearing aids, so you can hear those things directly in your hearing aids. I'm not sure the cost of the extras, because I give mine away. I am an Audiologist at a VA hospital
Great choice with the Oticon BTW. You will LOVE them.

P.S. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I've been doing this work for 20 years. :)

MissEmma,
I think that there is something wrong with my new hearing aids! :( Our doors are screeching, our floor has creaks in it, my TV volume has gone from 75 on the volume down to 20, our yard is filled with the sound of birds and tree frogs and worst of all, I can't seem to tune out my wife's voice!:blink::unsure: ;) :) :D

Yep... It will take awhile for your brain to learn to hear... And to learn what is important to hear. So glad you like them !!
