Not everyone has extra money to spend on anything. For some people it is just a way of life trying to cut every possible corner they can. When you're like me and living off of around 20 grand a year raising a family of 5 and putting my oldest daughter through College, every last penny saved is as small victory.

I agree if I was watching my pocket book and I had the patience for dealing with the china vendors then I would save money over the long term. In my case I have no kids, no alimony and I own everything out right with zero debt so screw it I going to get from the canuck . Of course not every Canada vendor is like Jack at HappyVaper. I have had issues with shipping taking weeks, items not in stock leaky bottles and prices much higher than I think they should be from various vendors. I could see where some people would be more inclined to get direct from China because not everything is golden on this side of the Canadian border. It comes down to whatever your own personal comfort level is. But if asked I would still recommend Canadian companies I have been happy with over the ones in China.

I can think of a few Canadians that don't float my boat either, when it comes to pricing, but I'd still go American before dealing with China again.

That being said, I got burned..BIG TIME, by a Chinese vendor. And, not just for ecigs either. I got FLEECED for A LOT of money a long time ago. RCMP says to report to them BLANTANT cases of fraud. I did. Nothing happened.

SHOULD have been 'lesson learned', but I gave another one a chance. THEY screwed me over too so..I won't take the risk again. I'm glad that a lot of people are successful with them, but why take the risk? They're no cheaper than a lot of North American vendors IMHO.

Take in account the waiting times and, in a LOT of cases, you get what you PAY for. I'd rather spend 70.00 on an EGo and know what I'm getting. And that, if there IS a problem with it, I can communicate with a vendor.

Sometimes what you are looking for just isn't available from our fine local vendors, or the cost of shipping is prohibitive. For example I am happily puffing on my Happy eGo, as well as my happy 510, my evapers 510, and my electronic cigz M401/2. With Crystal Liquid from e-cigz and Vapables almost everything else, except homebrew and LIB cheap juice.

But KR8 stuff, and until recently cartomizers, and the new 510 cartos I've had to buy in China. And shipping is either cheaper or competitive than Canadian vendors, e.g. the smallest order from Happy Vaper is $12 shipping, and I just got a few attys plus drip tips for $3 shipping from Heaven Gifts.

And if you're giving out spankings for buying in China, well where's the incentive to buy local there then?

Dom, where do you think our fine Canadian suppliers are getting their wares
from? Sure there may be some locally made juices, but i know for a fact "Jack"
ain't building eGo's in his garage. Both the eGo's that we are puffing on,
though we bought em off Jack were made in CHINA. As for your argument
about being able to communicate with vendors, i haven't seen too many
complaints on this forum about LITB or HC. As for getting what you pay for,
all our components come from CHINA. On the off hand chance that I am
wrong and there is a canadian manufacturer, my appologies, but in this
case I know I ain't wrong. No disrespect to Jack or any other local
suppliers, but i would rather put my kids through college than theirs.
I'm not saying they are making a killing off of us, but if i can buy attys
for $5 from HC, i can almost guarentee you that our locals that are buying
huge lots are paying probably only half that if not less. Then sell em for $13?
Let's not even get started on shipping costs.

Dom, you are not supporting locally made products with a maple leaf sticker
on em, you are just supporting a few Canadian IMPORTERS lifestyles. Don't
get me wrong though, I do applaud their efforts and am very glad they are
around, which is why i have ordered from almost all of them and continue
to send people their way on a daily basis.

It's great that you have the money to buy cheap chinese junk imported
by some Canadians and sold at a sizable markup. Some of us don't have the
money and prefer to cut out the middleman and get our cheap chinese crap
straight from the source. It's probably time that you start to respect
peoples shopping decisions.

Sorry if this came off sounding a little rude, it wasn't really my intention.
I'm just not a big fan of people trying to tell me where to spend the money
i work hard to earn. Also don't like being told that my simple addition,
subtraction, multiplication and division skills that i learned in elementary
school don't work no more.

I ALSO know that their BASE prices are better. My POINT was, IF something goes wrong, are they going to drop off a replacement part in your mailbox in the middle of the night? No. But, Jack DID. As for the shipping charges, I'd rather pay a few extra dollars and get my supplies, at the LATEST, 2 days after I place my order.

Think about the OP here, why was this thread started? Because he had to wait and wait for his order from China. I merely asked him why he'd gone there when he could have had it, in his hand, a LOT quicker if he'd ordered from HOME. I'm not TELLING ANYONE where they HAVE to buy their supplies either, but a LOT of us aren't even aware that we HAVE vendors!

As for Jack, Rob or the other Rob, I WILL continue going to them, when I can, because they're sticking their necks out for us..keep in mind the current feelings of HC.

I'm not really sure where the implication came from on here that I have money to burn. I do NOT. I worked 12 hour shifts, hauling drunks and scraping families off the highways for YEARS and now I'm home with our daughter.

I'm also SCOTTISH. FROM Scotland. That, in other words, means I'm tighter than a fishes ....

Got my missing LIB order today. Took 1.5 months or so, via regular airmail. It was opened and inspected by CBSA but they let it through anyways. Thanks guys!

btw, on this package, the customs label was prominently labeled "electronic cigarettes"!

Glad to hear it got through for you. I wonder if you asked they would label it something more vague like electronic accessories. Though it does not seem like as good of a deal now that the prices went up. Wish they had a better selection.

The last few orders I did from LIB they wrote "electronic accessories" on the box, so this was a little different.

Now here's some craziness for you. Just got in a long overdue package from Health Cabin, 3 510 kits. I had asked for blank cartridges but didn't hear back. Anyway it spent 4 days in customs (after over 3 weeks in transit...stupid EMS) and was opened by CBSA. I guess I should thank them because they cut through the bubble wrap so I didn't have to. The top kit was clearly opened...the box was dented and the lid not tightly fit. The box of cartridges was opened, and one of the cartridges was opened. Turns out they did ship blanks after all! So I guess that must why it went through...they found a dry cartridge!
