Limelight Freehand Gloom S

I'm thinking of purchasing a Gloom S and would like to know what owners think about it, those that have had theirs for a while. It's an expensive mod so I want to be careful.

Do you still love them?
Would you buy again?
How long was your wait, while it was being made?
Any extra's you wished you would have ordered?
How long did shipping take?

I don't have the gloom but I do have a couple stabwood mosfets and a mech. A gloom should ship fairly quickly. It is the stabwood freehands that take longer since they are made to order from a new block.

I don't have experience with the new ram mosfet (my two limelights use the older gen fets) but my older models are still working great. Avoid the pure mech switch. Limelights are just better as mosfets.

If you can get the new peizo bottles with your gloom I recommend those over the older limelight bottles. They are just less fiddly to work with in general than the older bottles. Other than that I recommend getting an extra battery cap and squonk bottle cap.

22 mm Catch cup or flush 24 mm 510 - whatever you prefer. Different colors/coatings also optional. If you like the idea of swapping colors on your switch to match different rdas I'd recommend ordering them now and avoiding extra shipping costs down the road if you change your mind.

Love my limelights, would definitely buy again. Other than my stratum 303 they are the only mosfets I trust to work consistently. One of the most beautiful and ergonomic designs in my collection.

Thanks for your reply. I haven't found the bottles on there web site. Is there any additional charges? So far it looks like with US conversion it will run me $395.90 USD. What is VAT?

You shouldn't have to pay vat if you aren't in europe. That is a local tax for the union. The piezo bottles are newer and might even ship with the newer limelights now. I ordered mine through a group buy awhile back when they were first introduced. I'll try and tak a pic later to show the difference between the old and new bottles.

That's a relief about the VAT and I'll be sure to order an extra battery cover. I'll also e-mail about more bottles.

I try to not submit to freehand gloom anymore. It results in depressing thoughts. It is a good rule of thumb to always submit gloomy thoughts to a rigid reality based standard.
