Links in signature

If you put a couple of ECF links in your signature you may end up going over the 450 character limit . You can shorten the URL by using the Google URL Shortener (there are others). You put the URL you want to shorten in the text box, click the button and goo.gl gives you a much shorter URL to use as a link. This shortened URL can be used by anyone and it links to the page you set it up for.

B/c the author of the software (Breaktru) made it for me, and I dint think to ask him for a link (shucks!). I had problems with putting them in there as 3 different graphics is why he took mercy on me and made it for me - prolly dint want to see the holocaust of a redhead tantrum, lol.

I suppose I could go in and try, but I've already lost the ability to change my avitar - Angus has to do it for me when I get a whim - don't want to lose what I already have since it took me a mini-tantrum try to get it to fit - I even somehow ended up on Breaktru's website with a little warning flashing on my moniter saying I wasn't unauthorized to be where I was. Great, now he probably thinks I'm a hacker.

Tib, something with my default settings must be jacked up since I can't even change my avi. I would hate to lose my sig since that's all I have left in visual options I can change. If I go mucking around in my sig and it too won't show up, then I'll have a double loss.

This is apparently above and beyond Angus's ability to fix since it still will not work for me. Everytime I want to change avis, I have to PM Angus to change it for me, and that totally sux. I suppose I could PM Chris, but I hate to bother him as busy as he usually is. Besides, now that it's warmed up enough on the beach, I won't be around as much as you're used to seeing me. Thank you, Tib, for trying to help my situation, you're a sweet little gal pal.

Seabrook, the problem is that there is no problem on this end. I have verified that there is nothing wrong with your account. The problem lies completely on your side, and it's extremely difficult for me to nail down an issue on a computer that I can't see.

You may need to try other things to see where the problem lies... Like trying a different browser, etc. If clearing out your browser's cache and cookies didn't work, you have to look at other things to see if it makes a difference.

Hi Angus,
I haven't logged into ECF since the 5th or 6th. I haven't tried it again, so I will try it one more time now. I was using FireFox, but it went corrupt after I cleared out the cookies and cache, and I had to uninstall it - haven't reinstalled it, so I'm stuck w/only IE for now.

I spose I could have an ex-BF (computer programmer) log onto my puter remotely to c what the prob is. But I know if it doesn't work, he'll trick me into coming over to fix it. Drat, I know his MO - would come late, toss a few shots, then say he can't drive back b/c he's been drinking.

I don't think I have a virus b/c I have a new computer, and I had Webroot installed on it b4 I left the store w/it. Okay, so I'll try once more time here to see if I can chg my avi - maybe it was just temporarily mucked up. If that fails, I will just have to take it to my GeekSquad guy and be sans PC for a few days.

@ Tib - If I'm not back 2day, I'll see you in a few after this gets fixed.

another way to link a long link is to write a short name go advance highlight it and click on link and paste the link in there

Thanks, dearheart, got it fixed. My Firefox was corrupt. IE also. That's odd that both dorked out @ the same time, can't figure out what's up with that. It all happened when I clear the cookies/cache. I used a program called CCleaner. I don't think I'll use that little rascal again - was suggested to me by my GeekSquad friend.

i will keep it in mind but I have no idea to change my signature by now........................ unless i fall in love ..
