List by post instead of thread when searching?

Other forums I am on will give me the option to list search results by post instead of by thread. This is very helpful if the thread is long. Didn't see a way of doing that on ECF, although I certainly could have just missed it.

It's in the Advanced Search option, in case someone else wonders.

And you have to select the search single content type tab.

that reminds me ........... sure would be nice if the default could be set to 'list by posts' - most threads are way too long to go searching
and that, imo, makes the general search function useless

The problem with listing by post, rather then thread is the resulting output. By setting it to "by post", you're hammering the search servers harder than they normally would be. And while Sphinx does an awesome job of reducing the amount of resources needed to accomplish searching, there are limits especially with a forum of this size.
