I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

I arrived to this site a few weeks ago, full of pith and vinegar, and made claims here that I now see have been soundly contradicted by experts in the field of Li-ion batts. All I can say is; who knew? I sure didn't, and I just last year attended a service seminar with my mechs that delved into the subject of li-ion cells in golf carts. The rep stated several times that a lengthy initial charge is essential for ensuring long life with these batteries. I now know that he was in error (as was I) and should not have shot my mouth off -- no matter how well-intentioned -- about following certain OEM recommendations for charging these batteries.

To put it plainly; I was dead wrong in my comment earlier this month on the subject, and will seek that misstatement out and edit in the correct information. Sometimes it is hard for an old dog to recognise his own malarky for what it is... Please forgive my previous ignorance on this subject. I stand -- and sit -- duly corrected.

Kindest regards.

Dave
