I have gone to this shop a few times and the only reason I continue to is because they have a juice flavor that I really like and they are a about 1/4 mile from where I live, so its very convenient... But every time I go in there they make me feel like an idiot when I ask a noob question.. A couple of employees have even gone so far as to laugh at some of the questions!

I am huge on customer service.. I would rather pay more for an item and receive good customer service than pay less and not.. The way I figure it is if you make your customers feel like crap then you dont deserve my money.

So I cant wait until I get all the DIY supplies I ordered and can either come up with my own flavor that I love or clone their's lol...

I did find another shop that I like a LOT better... Employees are nice and the store is much cleaner..

Who else has run into this problem?

Roydub,

Unfortunately too many people have encountered the same problem. Rest assured with their attitude and poor business sense they won't be in business for long. That's sweet justice I think.

What's the juice flavor you are buying from them. Is it their own mix, or likely you can find it online somewhere else (or an adequate substitute). What is the cost of the juice? I am sure a dozen people here can offer suggestions for a comparable juice or one that is a similar flavor but even better.

The best way to vote is with your dollars. Take them to a shop that appreciates it, or order online and ask your noob questions on this forum. Generally the folks on this forum are more knowledgeable and generous of their experience than the local vape shops.

Good luck....and be sure to post what juice it is. I am sure one of us here can help you find a flavor that will satisfy.

Just a few years ago a vape store could treat you like the folks at the state operated liquor store. When you are the only option in town customer service suffers. From what I have seen, even small towns have one or more vape shops and those with decent prices and good customer service will win out. However in ALL shops I have visited, I can find their products much cheaper online. Those that mix their own juice and sell at a reasonable price will get the business of those who are internet savvy.

Its there own flavor mix, they call Smooths... Its a somewhat sweet menthol flavor... 13.00 for 30ml

I recently got a bunch of juice in the mail that I purchased from members here so I am giving all them a try to see if I find something I like... and I ordered a bunch of stuff to start mixing my own flavors, so very soon Ill be able to be rid of them completely :)

I was just irritated because I just stopped in there earlier

I feel like now I know more than my local B&M. They have a lot of the starter kits but they do have a few decent mech mods, regulated devices, and RDAs and RTAs. They have some good juice now since they started getting in premium stuff like space jam and cuttwood. BUT they NEVER have any of the ones I want in 6mg :( Anyways... I just feel awkward going into vape shops, or going into any place for that matter xD Damn social anxiety.

When I first started, I was using a cigalike, the Joyetech eRoll. When I first went to Steam Cigs to buy my very first ejuice, when they saw my eRoll, I could tell they found it quite amusing -- they're more of a "cloud chasing paradise" in that store. Now that I'm using a Kayfun, they treat me with more respect, but I've discovered that I just can't vape the 95% VG liquids they sell. They clearly don't want my business, so I'm happy to take it elsewhere.

On the other hand, another store that's actually much nearer (which I didn't know about, at first), didn't bat an eye when I showed my eRoll -- that shop seems to cater more to those just starting out, and cigalikes are a common new-user device. UInfortunately their juices are too high VG for me too (or Halo, bleah ptui!), so I can't buy ejuice there either -- but if I need a driptip or something, I know they're happy to see me; a very nice guy owns/runs that shop, and I'm happy to stop in there just to say hello, and even if I'm not buying, he's always friendly.

Now, I either DIY my own juice, or I buy it online, from a vendor that allows me to customize my PG/VG for the high-PG I require. Sweet-vapes.com!

I have found that many employees at the B&M store near me know very little about vaping safely.. Just last week I was in one of the BETTER shops near me, the staff is pretty knowledgeable and eager to help out. Great customer service and they are well priced.

However... I was looking through their juices and happened to notice the guy next to me purchasing his first Mech and RDA combo (didn't wanna be nosy so I did not ask what he was getting). Now I did notice that the employee was doing the first build for the customer as a Dual 24ga 7 or so wraps which I am guessing was about .2-.3 ohm range. I was appalled that they would set this guy up with a build like that and then tell him "when you wrap your own just try to mirror the same coils I have here".

Maybe it is just me but that is not how I would want my first set up to be, no regards to Ohms law and battery Amperage, just a sub ohm and here ya go...

There are two shops in that area that I know of. If the one you are talking about is not KVS, go there. I'm no longer a fan of their liquid but their staff has been really, really good to me.(in addition to Mister-e as discussed above) I would avoid the other I am thinking of. Some other locals for you to consider:

Joost (staff=hit-or-miss)
GR E Liquid (staff=pretty good)

There's one right down the street from my work. It's a dinky little shop, there was some high school kids (it's right down the street from a ghigh school) sitting on a couch chatting and blowin dem cloudz that I could see from outside. I thought "oh boy, this will be fun." As soon as I walk in, they get that deer in headlights look (I'm a security guard, so I had my uniform on since I was on my lunch break) and they just kind of stared, but anytime I looked over they tried to make it look like they weren't staring. Looked at their juice (with no help from the kid behind the counter, he was too busy talking to his school mates) (virtually nothing besides some Uncle Junk's) and decided to buy some some Savannah. The girl behind the counter wasn't very friendly, I don't like to judge people by the appearance, but kind of looked like some sort of crack addict, like Wendy from Breaking Bad xD Anyways, I won't be going there anymore.

Andria: if you ever visit Milwaukee again, you should swing up and stop in at Sweet Vapes: it's only like an hour away, tops!

I've seen the "ignorant employee/owner" thing before: never fails to amaze me that such places stay in business as long as they do

I would love that, but I'd say the chances of me ever visiting Milwaukee again are "slim to none" -- it was my ex's hometown, and not only do I not talk to him anymore, he lives in Phoenix now. :D His brother, whom I like very much, used to still live up there, but he had a quadruple-bypass surgery last year, and I think has now relocated either to Houston (near their sister) or out to Phoenix.

Where I'd dearly love to visit is in Michigan, Oakland County, where we used to live, but that seems entirely unlikely as well. Our son has mentioned the possibility of relocating to Oregon, so if we move north again, it will undoubtedly be in the NW direction. I had thought fondly of WA state, until they started all this anti-vaping hooraw. And I still have my fantasies of Alberta, CA, or maybe eastern BC, but that seems like exactly that, a fantasy... and the Canadian gov't seem to be quite anti-vaping recently as well.

Who else has run into this problem?

This is somehow so prevalent at vape shops that I checked your listed location to see if you were in Stuart, Florida. After thinking about it for a second, I realized you could be in Palm Beach, Orlando, northern Florida... we have a reputation of being "alpha" in the southeast... annnd you're from Michigan. Maybe it's linked to the nicotine. Don't take it personally; this problem is pervasive.

You could always do the store owner a favor.

Tell owner that he/she has lost a customer.
Let the owner know it's due to the treatment you've received from the employees.

A thought...

I have been to atleast 10 diffrent stores around here... I'm lucky. Some better than others. One of the shops could be ran by badittude and the ECF vets.

My least pleasant experience was one ran by what appeared to be high school kids, tried to sell me a mechanical mod with a dripper when I didn't know the difference between a nautilus vs a kayfun (example), luckily I did not go for it.

I like the shops where they just want people to quit smoking cigs and its your choice to go in to the mod/rebuildable world never trying to sell something to you, in my opinion that's great customer service
