Does anybody have any local vapor shop that just seems in it for the money?? The one in my town seems like that.. All the things he sells having to do with mods, batteries, tanks, and RBAs are doubled if not a bit more in price then what you can get it online. As for juices go, he just gets the flavor and mixes it together just like I do myself.. He has no flavors of his own that he came up with or any special flavors.. Then he charges almost 10 bucks for a 10ml..

The owners attitude is really bad also.. He yells at his workers in front of everybody, he blames his workers for everything even when I watched him do it, His attitude is like he has no passion for it.. The first time I was there I bought a smok pyrex tank it broke when I was in work and it was in my truck.. I brought it back and he gave me attitude about it.. Like really?...His workers are his family except for one..

Is this a common thing in your area?? Maybe it may and I'm just not used to it? I would love to spend my money local and help out the local economy but his attitude in general as the owner just draws me away.. So does the pricing but if I really want it now I would do it..

To be fair they all are....not a bad thing just a good business model....

Yeah, I don't really do bad attitudes from people I'm spending money with and you shouldn't either...

Yes, absolutely! You can get things way cheaper on line. My 1st MVP was $75. Came home & found it on line for $42. I don't get any hardware in the B&M's. Maybe some occasional juice.

I ordered my MVPv2 online for 40 bucks.. I seen it the next day in his shelves for 85 bucks.. I can't buy juice there anymore.. He puts nic in his testers and I can't stand nic. It has a nasty taste to it and ruins the taste of the actual juice.. I DIY.. I would rather by a 4oz of flavoring and risk me not liking it then going and tasting lol..

Good job on the MVPv2!!!!!!
That place sounds like a dive and I personally would not shop there. Just for his attitude alone.
Have you gone to Yelp and searched for other stores in your area?

You are right about the money part.. I guess I just expect a them to not to have such a great big mark up.. I was in there today showing a couple people how to build coils and stuff and I was going to get this RDA but his attitude was just too blunt for my money..

I have couple local shops. One is cheap and ok quality. The other is good but expensive but both are very knowledgable and friendly.

Sent from Android

His knowledge is eh... He just knows the basics like a beginner.. I'm not sure he even knows how to build a coil to be honest lol..

I got it from a guy on Ebay.. His last one too. There is one an hour and a half away from me I visited last month and they are great.. Their juices are all homemade recipes tested out and followed to the T.. Their knowledge is awesome.. I get confused sometimes listening in on their conversations about vaping lol. But they are an hour and a half away..

I have 4 vapor shops local to me and I have visited them all. 3 are awesome, 1 not so much. So naturally when I first started and knew absolutely nothing, you can guess which shop I went to first and spent 100 bucks on complete garbage. I won't name names, but some people see a cash cow in a rapidly growing industry and want a piece of the pie. From my small sample size here is what I have seen.
If you have a tobacco store and the owner rents the building next to use as a vape shop, be prepared to be punched in the wallet and walk out of the store with junk.
On the other hand if you walk into a store and the staff seems knowledgeable, fun, and helpful, is it so bad that you have to pay a slight premium? I am not going to buy a 80.00 MVP from my favorite shop, but I will absolutely buy Kanthal, wick, pro tanks, evods, iClears, coils, juice (if it's good). A good B&M is important.
We all have that fear that sooner than later Big Brother is going to be on top us. I am more than willing to bet that internet sales of Vaping Equipment will in the very least change when that dreaded day comes, I am happy to know that I have a trusted vendor I can actually get to if and when that day comes.

Well, you can always make the trip just to stock up. Then anything else you want, just order on line. Waiting for vapemail is the most exciting thing!!!
Forget that other guy, don't aggravate yourself!

Oh believe me, I want my money going back into local as much as it can.. Money isn't an object to me and if I like you, I will buy.. Just another example here.. I do most of my own auto work on my vehicles.. But if I have the money, I will take it to my mechanic that I have been going to for 10 years and he has never ripped me off and I want my money to be passed around and support local..

They have an online store.. But they are just so experienced and friendly I will drive there or hitch a ride with my buddy.. Vpemail, ohhh it sucks waiting on but it is exciting lol..

That's unfortunate to hear. I have had visited a store (no name calling) before where there seemed to be a slight lack of passion for vaping. I grant them that most of their clientele are newer vapers that are just looking to quit smoking, but even my friend and I, who we both consider ourselves 'intermediates' in this ever-growing vaping culture, felt as if when we first started asking questions about mods or newer products, they seemed to shrug off this "customer-oriented sales person" persona, where we felt like they couldn't up-sale us because we were more knowledgable than what the usual business that they recieved.

I don't hold a grudge against the shop though. I know everyone is out make a dollar, but when it comes to business, the customer is important.

I do find that store fronts are more prone to newer vapers, due to the ease of accessibility, the comfort of actual conversation between knowledge of products and trust, and you can even try first-hand before you buy, compared to buying online. I mean that's where I even started. The effect of high demand for monotonous, basic, introductory knowledge could exhaust a person, I understand that, but that's the starting point. That is where you can change a person's life forever by creating this "harm reduction" culture around the customer, and providing the correct knowledge to help the person understand that vaping is incredibly different, in fact better, to smoking. That's where you develop relationships where you can encourage 'novices' that will have those cravings to switch back but that's normal, and it'll simply go away if you keep at it. I don't understand why making copious amounts of profit is more important than caring for your fellow human. All I see from that method of business is detrimental to said business. People aren't stupid, and they will feel the neglect from the owner's practices.

I've been to some, the prices seem highly inflated, you can always find the item cheaper online. The way I see it, is that these folks have to pay the cost to operate a store front. Will I buy everything from them? No. If I'm in a pinch I will..It seems more expensive then buying a pack of cigarettes.

Granted, vaping has been way more expensive then my RYO tobacco habit. I was over a pack a day smoker, but still spent only 40 dollars a month on some premo RYO tobacco. I keep telling myself that vaping will pay off in the long run.

I'm in there at least once a week just for the sheer fact of going to help all the new vaping people out there that wanna learn to rebuild their coils. I was lucky, I got drawn onto vaping from a co worker that has been vaping since the first electric cigarette came out.. He has taught me everything I know along with youtube... I have only been vaping for a few months now and the next day I was rebuilding my own coils with in that first 2 weeks I already had a VV ego battery, MVPv2, and then a Nemesis clone.. I started to DIY and now I'm sub ohming.. I went and asked the owner about all I learned just to test his knowledge and he could only really tell me basic things.. I asked him the dangers of sub ohm last week he told me there isn't any as long as you have a 30 amp battery REALLY!!

Customer is always number 1. I always say repeat business is your business's success. If you don't have repeat business from at least 25% of your customers, you are doing something wrong. I would just like to see an owner not only care about the money he makes, but as well as the passion o=for that type of business.

Here in St. Louis, vape shops are popping up everywhere. I've probably been to everyone in the metro area! I'd say no more than 20% of them should be in business. Most are simply trying to cash in on a hot market. To me it appears they're praying on newbie's or uneducated consumers. The product offered is way over priced! Not to mention, tons of knock offs for name brand price's. The quality of some of their liquid is absolutely a joke! When you ask for a cartomizer, and they show you their clearomizers it's a little frustrating. What I've noticed is a lot of the employee's are not properly trained, or have no clue about the products they're trying to sell. That said when you find a good shop, stick with them. They'll be higher than online, but they have to. They can also be a huge asset to you personally. The good shop's here seem to spend as much time educating customers, as actually selling them products. I mainly buy online, but I spend some coin at my favorite B&M as well. Good luck!
