I am a friends with a local coffee shop owner. Due to (BIG BROTHER) making all public spaces ( you cant even smoke with in 50 feet of the frount door) non smoking he has been losing money. The day i got my E-cig i ran up to the coffe shop and showed him. Wow was what he had to say. It took a week to get ready but now he has turned this old smoking room into a vampping room!!! that is soo cool.
NOw i can go and get a break from my family and grab a cup of coffee and my nic at the same time!! I wish every place would do this!!

And for what i think is goverment should not be able to tell store owners what the can do in there own shops!! If non-smoker did not like it they can go find some were that the owner made it non smoking from there choice!!! or stay home in there own little world ( why do they have more rights than me???)

Hi brialeeanna20, it would be really helpful if you added your location to your profile so that we all at least knew which continent this coffee shop was located in :D

Too funny, Chrissie. I just left Bria's profile page trying to find out where the Hobby Lobby store is. LOL

Hello One And All,

In the same spirit of what this thread was created for, I wanted to put in my newbie two-cents, for what it’s worth. I’ve got a small circle of friends who introduced me to electronic cigarettes – if it’s not already obvious, I’m fully sold on it and am now boasting that I’m never looking back at analog cigarettes – unless under threat of…well lets leave that one to your imaginations. Just know that my circle of friends want to subtly educate and expose the public to the idea of vapping (although I too like the thought of a vamping room).

Like brialeeanna20, I’d like to see if I can ‘try’ and get someone to allow eCigs in what would be considered the ‘old smoking section’ of any establishment. The only problem is that I’m not sure if anyone is willing to give it a try.

My proposal is to see if we can start asking places to post signs along side of their ‘No Smoking’ signs. The added sign would be a ‘green’ circle around the words “Electronic Cigarette Friendly”. Even if only a few clients use the old smoking area to vape, I’d hope that the new sign would create a new level of awareness that could become a new trend.

Again, I know this is a passive-aggressive movement, but it’s also a very subtle and neutral way to try and get people asking about it. What do you think?

The sign already exists, but for the life of me I can't seem to find it. Any one of you long-timers have a link to the thread it's in?

P.S. Note I didn't say old-timers. :p

Since perception is reality, it may be less intimidating (& confusing to some who shall be nameless) if the sign next to "No Smoking" said "Vapers Welcome" or something like that.

As I, along with others, have noticed, use the word "cigarette", and they get all up in arms. Use a more <gag> Politically correct <wiping tongue> term and it will peek interest....
I try not to use the "C" word...what I've found that works is "...blah blah blah...it keeps me off of cigarettes....." and like other posters have discovered, the response is "that's great! what ever works for you!" LOL
