Locking ring stuck, HELP!!!

Hello,

I have Ibaloi mod, Ibaloi Mod

I got it a few days ago and this morning I took it apart to noalax everything real good. However, my lock ring is STUCK!

The firing button is unlocked, and I cannot lock it.

I have twisted and twisted and it won't budge, I have small slices all over my hands from the thread.


I have tried freezing the botton to maybe loosen it and I have rubbed WD-40 all over, no luck and it just won't budge!


I probably could get it off with some pliers etc, but I don't want to scratch it up.


Anyone else run into a hellish locking ring problem?

Freedom i finally did it after 7 hours of fiddling

Glad you got it.
I've managed to free bound threads by wrapping w/ masking tape. Gave my fingers just enough additional traction to break free.

Masking tape is good method. Another is to take the parts that are threaded together and stick in a freezer or refrigerator so the metal contracts, then try unthreading by hand.

before using pliers take fat rubber bands and wrap where your going to apply pliers. Wont mark up mod at all.
