I read this, IMHO, rambling drivel and loved the post by The Time Waster:

“May I see the final draft when you finish? May I also suggest you have someone else write it for you?”

It's difficult to look like a literary god when you spell persons' person's. 8-o

I'm so shocked by this apostrophe abuse that I'll have to have a couple more smokes before retiring. :D

So for the first time in 40 years I’ve been able to go without cigarette’s and you have a problem with that? The fact that I am addicted to nicotine is really not any of your business and if I have found a way to feed my addiction and poison my body less why exactly do you care? You’re relieved when smoking is banned but now that there is a product which can replace smoking you’re so upset by this turn of events that you must blog about it. I’m not exactly sure what your agenda is but please keep your uninformed and prejudicial thoughts to yourself

Perfecto :).

Just in the sense that this is NOT some Joe Anti writing a personal blog. It's university-student thinking, for whatever that is worth. Everyday, I receive links to blog entires on e-smoking and most of the writers don't know the difference between they're and there. This piece is ... lofty, as in ivory tower. It pretends to be intelligent. It's wrong-headed thinking, of course, but lofty.

Ah, that's better. For a moment I thought the denizen of the ivory tower was merely expressing himself in a dreary, inept sort of way. I am so sorry that you have to deal with this kind of thing every day. Why aren't you screaming?:)

What irritates me about this thinking is that people are going to hate e-cigarettes because they slightly resemble the real cigarette and in a lot of minds cigarettes = bad. So much that non smokers hate us and for good reasons. I'd have to say I rub elbows better with management at work because I'm outside smoking with them. It creates a social atmosphere that they are not part of and unwilling to risk there own health to be a part of. That doesn't mean they won't secretly hate you from inside the building watching out the window.

So now people are trained to hate smoking and in turn hate smokers for various reasons. I'm not sure how some people get away with vaping at work but I know not to even bring it up because the amount of cranky people in my workplace would be mad that something I used to suffer for outside in the rain could be done right beside them.

Once people are allowed to be smug about something they aren't going to like that power of smug being taken from them. I'm sure this kind of thinking is ultimately going to get these products banned. The non smokers are going to fight us hard with silly remarks like "Why not just quit".

I get these remarks all the time from people personally so my opinion is shrouded by what I experience. Just recently one of friends posted on facebook " I like how compactman wants to do less harm to himself through smoking but don't know why he just doesn't quit all together?"

They simply don't get it. I sometimes think smokers have quit not for the sake of their health *that was a bonus* but for the sake of being on the smug side of the arguement. We pay high taxes, we leave the building, and we listen to your arguements every day. This blog had no evidence of harm done to the body from e-cigs so the peanut gallery should .....
