I guess it's just me, but i HATE laser-etched logos all over my PV's. I use eGo batteries, and it seems that nomatter which vendor i get them from, it is etched with their company name/logo in a few places.
For example: I was out of town and my ego battery died an unexpected death. Web search found a store a few minutes away. They sold 510 and eGo-c stuff exclusively. I had some a-spec tank stuff at home, so i bought a 650 eGo-c set. I paid plenty, but it was a physical store and i was in a pinch.
Anyway, it has logos/names etched in three places. Can i send them a bill for all the advertising they expect me to do?

Just out of curiosity, did you also hate the brand name on cigs (packs, the cig itself)?

Not to pick on ya, but branding with this stuff isn't exactly new. I'm rather surprised all e-cigs didn't start out that way.

BTW I think some people use sticker stuff on their e-cigs. The modder's secion may have some info if you wish to cover it up and/or customize it.

I agree with the OP. I personally hate logos on my equipment but I understand why it's there. Advertising is just one purpose. There are so many knockoffs out there that unscrupulous people use that to ripoff certain vendors. Some vendors out there offer really good warranties. Without some way to identify and verify that the equipment being returned is their product, vendors would end up replacing shoddy product sold by their competitors. I usually remove or cover up logos on my mods or devices, but I also never bother with warranties.

I tend to believe that nothing is ever truly yours until you've voided the warranty. :)

I could not agree more with the original poster! I refuse to buy clothing that has a designer's name plastered all over it as well.
As for doing it to combat knockoffs?? If they were able to copy a PV i am sure they can figure out how to printing a name on an item. Let's see, Chanel, Coach, Rolex, L. Vuitton, any of those ring a bell. Quality will always stand out.

IM fine with manufacturers (Joye, Smoktek), but I'm griping about the resellers. My first eGo was from Nicotine Nirvana, and had the their "NN" logo on the cone, side of the battery, and on the bottom. It also had "eGo-T" on it, too.

When I was in a pinch, the eGo-c I bought had Capers Corner on the cone, Atty holder, body, and bottom. I have since polished all of them off.

P.S. I also took the dealer name off the back of my car.

As a graphic designer, I'm not a huge fan of advertising either. I would never buy anything from totally-wicked because they slap some hideous red logo on all of their products.

Although, I do like how liberty-flights does it. They manage to keep their logo discreet and it adds to the aesthetic; instead of putting their logo on their product just because they can. When I bought my smok tech ego from them, they have their logo on the end cap in white.
