I'm incredibly excited!

After two-years' distraction from the world of ecigs (see also: college, low funds, and the general chaos of life), I finally put my foot down and set aside enough money; my new 510 tank is en route as I type :D I'm excited and nervous all at the same time, but mostly excited! My boyfriend had bought a little cheap ecig from a mall kiosk a few months ago and I loved it, (it has since broken), so I can't wait to get started!

I bought extra tanks and 8mg vanilla eliquid (starting out low because I've no idea how often I'm going to want to vape throughout the day, and I'd rather be safe and not overdo the nicotine). It comes with pre-filled 11mg so I'll have those to use too if I find the 8mg to be too little.

I think I might be interested in making my own juice sometime in the future, if all goes well. Zero-nicotine juice, of course, I'll leave the potentially very dangerous things to the professionals. How complicated/dangerous is it to make your own nic-free juice? It doesn't seem like it would be so bad, it would just be VG (or PG) USP and concentrate, with proper measurements of each, wouldn't it? Anyway, I'm not going to jump the gun yet, I'm just wondering. Is there a page or post which outlines this sort of thing? All the ones I've seen deal with the nicotine levels, which, as already mentioned, I'm not interested in at all.

Perhaps this is a slightly pointless post, but I wanted to share my excitement with others who would understand  greatly anticipating a visit from the postman next week!

Welcome Shapiro! Gosh, it's exciting. Kit on the way... you already know how to vape. Please keep us posted on your progress. You have a lot of help here. Amazing group on ECF.

Mixing your own juice (DIYing): My hubby offered to DIY for me if I'd get the supplies. He's never smoked and sees my weekly juice purchases. Yikes. I love trying new juices. The DIYers here on ECF are amazing and were very helpful. You can buy nic base at a low level and not have to dilute it. We got 100mg and diluted to 18mg. He wore gloves and eye protection and he was prepared in case of a spill. We put the dogs in another room during that part. He made 3 ounces of different VG/PG ratio bases at 18mg and didn't spill a drop. Then he put the nic away and played with flavors and recipes. That's the fun part. There are 100s of juice recipes on ECF and elsewhere and free e-juice software. He made one delicious juice that I'm vaping now, one steeping that I haven't tried and 3 that are not very good so far. He's making tiny 3ml batches. We'll prolly waste a lot trying to get a few yummy ones. It's fun keeping the chemist's notebook and sharing the experience with him. Cherry Cheesecake and RY4 are on the menu this weekend. Pretty cool. It's not cheap to get the supplies to get started. In the long run it could save a lot. I most look forward to not worrying that my fav juices are out of stock.

Enjoy your new tank PV!

From one lurker to another good luck.......Baile an Cliabh????? Dublin??

baile átha cliath is Dublin, baile an cliabh is my invented gaeilge name for Cleveland (ohio) because it doesn't have a translation =]

And wow thank you everyone for all the kind welcomes! I'm obsessively checking the tracking of my package haha. Should be here by nextWednesdayish, cannot wait! Our neighbours had a bonfire last night and one of their friends was over with an ecig. Is this one of those things like....like how they say when you get pregnant you start noticing pregnant women everywhere? When you start vaping you begin seeing vapers everywhere? Haha!

Well, you don't see them everywhere where I live, not yet anyway! Best of luck in your vaping journey. You may need a higher nic juice if you smoke pack a day or more. I was a 2 PAD ultra lite smoker and still needed the 24 mg at first - three months in I've now dropped to 18 mg. It's pretty painless to drop down AFTER you get over the smoking hump...think about it.

It finally arrived! I'm now the official, proud new owner of a 510t, and loving it so far! No problems yet! I've a tank of 8mg vg vanilla going right now and it tastes....like a cupcake. It's fantastic, haha. I'm so excited, still. First step towards getting rid of the analogs: no more smoking in the car! (which is my biggest weakness because I'm stuck in terrible rush-hour traffic for at least two hours every day. If I can not smoke any analogs while driving, I'll feel pretty amazed with myself.)
