Maybe that's why we're getting a burn taste from our vaporizer. :/ Ours only came with a USB charger but no plug, so we plugged it into the computer to charge and now we have to replace the wick... Thank you so much for that information!

First of all, welcome to ECF :)

Second, as for the burnt taste, I was getting the same thing when I started vaping. Make sure you do a dry pull on your ecig before igniting the vapor, you could scorch the wick leaving you with a bad aftertaste. Happened to me, now every time I fill my tank I give it a quick toot till I can taste the flavor then I click my button and nice, thick, tasty clouds :)

Oh yeah, after we started getting the burnt taste we looked up all we could on it. We tried the dry drag and it didn't seem to help. My boyfriend says he's just going to buy a new wick because he thinks we burnt it past the point of fixing. At least they're relatively inepensive. Thank you for the advise though. ^.^

So I'm really new to vaping and have only really smoked hookah before it. I'm trying to get some safety info as my boyfriend and I just purchased our first vaporizer. :) Also looking for some good brands of e liquid, preferably not tobacco flavored and low nicotine to no nicotine content. Any other kind of info would be extremely welcome too! As well as info about this site and posting things because I've never joined a forum before, but I'm very excited to be part of the vaping community!

Hi and welcome, I am VERY new myself to the forum and only been vaping for a few months. Started with a setup of my son's and then in December bought a new SID mod and some carto tanks and started the taper off of the cigarettes. I have had a LOT of experience with forums many years ago but it has been a while so it took me a minute to get back in the swing of how things work. Have fun with your new hobby but it does get addicting in more ways than one! :vapor:

burn taste, dry hits, that's just common when you are not accustomed, just as with smokers who are not accustomed, cough on their first smoke.

Once you get accustomed, you'll realise you need to keep your wick wet/damp; for a top coil, that might mean tipping it sideways occasionally to wet the wick/coil area.

What vaporiser are you using?

And for safety issues:
1: Check out the DIY eliquids forums about how to make your own eliquids; since you are not really interested in nicotine, that makes things a whole lot easier.
2: A lot of tanks on the market are still cheap plastic tanks; some eliquids (cinnamon and citrus) eat certain plastics so bad, you will see the plastic crack, or cloud; then there are others that don't eat the plastic that bad, which I figure is kind of worse because then you might be vaping a lot of plastic and not seeing the difference. So good idea to play it safe and get a good glass pyrex tank.

For batteries, the smallest would be around 350mah; I dont think anybody uses that.
Then you get 650mah, 800mah, 1100, 1300, and then there is the Innokin Itaste MVP which is 2600mah, has the full load of features that you could possibly want, and for the price, is the hands-down best ecig battery money can buy.

ah ok I just wondered if maybe I missed something. You're right safety first a safe charge bag would be a good idea too when charging. I was thinking about buying one just to be on the safe side.

Sounds interesting ! I had not heard of such a thing before;thanks
