Greetings. I’m here for the recipes and the advice and the friends. I have made all my first gear order to DIY, but I’ve yet to pull the trigger on the DIY’ing. Slightly terrified and not sure why.
The Key is to Record EVERYTHING you do/mix. And to not get too Hung Up on Numbers and Needless Accuracy.
Same as when I mix by volume. If I get .1 or .2ml over or under on something, it doesn't kill the batch and truly it's not even noticeableIndeed, record EVERYTHING.
But do try to be consistent, other wise you might not be able to reproduce something good, or be able to "tweak" it to something better. But, as Zoid says, NEEDLESS accuracy should be avoided.
I mix by weight, and don't sweat it if I put in 1.3 grams instead of 1.2. Close enough.
I also mix up a "base" of my preferred PG/VG ratio (although a tad high on the VG) at 20 mg/ml nic, since my target is 18. Most flavors and my nic are in PG, so they bring the ratio closer to what I want, and the flavors also bring the nic % down some. Some mixes have more flavors than others, so the final mix is somewhere around 18. Again, close enough.
Welcome and glad you joined.Greetings
Personally I'd suggest keeping all mixes for a minimum of 30 days and continue to test weekly.Hi Jmeecakes. Welcome to the ECF.
DIY Isn't Hard. Or anything to worry over.
You put some Ingredients into an Empty Bottle.
Shake Well.
Place it in a Cool, Dark place for a couple of Days.
Then you try it.
If you like it, Great. You put a Star on your Recipe Card. If you Don't, you Toss it and put a Frowny Face on the Card.
That's really about all there is to it.

When I mixed my cocoa puffs and milk recipe, the fresh cream and condensed milk components took about 24 hours to settle down and play nice with the other flavors. The fresh cream is 1.5% of the mix and condensed milk is at 0.25% and even in that low percentage, those flavor take a minute to fully develop. I see this thread being moved to the DIY forum though....Although fruity flavors often don't need that long![]()
