I am looking to purchase a second unit. I currently use a 901 but am unhappy with the battery life. I thought I had narrowed it down to a DSE801, but now I am hearing the battery on a Lady/Mini pipe lasts much longer than an 801. Is this true? Anyone have any other models they would like to nominate?

Smokinyoda--both have a good battery life but then again you are so off from a "Cigarette feel" that it can be a pain sometimes--better to go with the tried and true 801 penstyle my freind IMHO---Sun

The Screwdriver uses 901 atomisers has a long battery life 6 - 7 hours and they are cheap, the batteries that is .

If battery life is a concern the SD is the way to go. The units cost more than the average ecig, but the performance and maint. costs are so much less that it makes up the cost difference. I addition the reliability factor it worth the $$$.

Guess I should have mentioned the SD is not an option at this time. Although at some point I do plan on aquiring one, just can't swing it right now. Thanks for everyones input though, keep them coming.

Well on my juice box mod I have gotten upwards of 36 hours of fairly consistent use before I couldnt get any vapor out of it.
This sounds interesting...

if you search juice box you will find a bunch of threads on it, basically its a 4xAA battery box from radio shack with only 3 of the slots used for batteries and the last one for wires, I get around 4.1-4.3v off of fully charged energizer AA NiMH 2450 MAH batteries. It takes a bunch of fiddling to get it working 100% however once you get everything good its wonderful. The downside is it is a large box so if you need the small cig shape your boned... I was looking at possibly doing a 6x setup so I can do 2 cells of 3x AA so I would have the 4.x volts and 4900mah!!! It would be nice for camping or whatever.

EDIT: Since cost is a factor you can make this box for around 10 bux and the batteries can be had cheaply from deal extreme (free shipping = 3 week wait...) or for around ~20 for 4 batteries and a charger. I got my 36 hours off of some 2450 mah batteries so your overall time may vary.

Thanks for the info, but sounds a little to bulky. I would like something I could easily carry in my pocket for a night out. I guess 6 hours of intermittent use would be an ideal range.

I am sorry but despite a good bit of lurking I still can not sort through the model numbers and such to figure out the model number of my e-cig but it is what is sold under the Smoking Everywhere brand as the GOLD model.

I do not have a problem getting 6 hours of use out of a single battery. My normal day is 12 hours from the time I leave in the morning till I get home in the afternoon and I have not run out of power with two batteries ever (I started e-smoking at the end of January).

The E-cig kicks out a lot of vapor and from what I can tell from the video's on youtube, it is just as strong as any of the others out there.

The SE website sells the starter kit with two batteries for $150 and like I said, I can't sort through all the model numbers to figure out what it is otherwise called to bargain hunt it. It is IMPORTANT to make sure you get the GOLD model. It is a completely different setup than the original or the 2.0 models. The atomizer is completely encased in the GOLD model instead of sticking out a bit the way it does in earlier versions.

You might want to check your local mall. I can buy it at my mall for $30 less on the 2 battery starter kit and $20 less on the single battery one.

It's called the rn4081 I believe. Despite being horrendously overpriced from SE they're extremely cheap and available on wholesale sites. Carts can be a pain since they don't last very long and I've yet to see a manual battery. Despite that, they do last a long time. I still use mine occasionally if I forget to charge my 401 PCC and it lasts ~8 hours. Major downside is that it's a microphone switch and literally turns on at the drop of a pen.

Your best bet is either a PCC with whatever model you get, or a 801 with an adapter so you can use whatever atty you want. I used to use an 808 with a 510 atty when I first started vaping and it did the trick until I wanted something lighter. adapters are dirt cheap (~$3-$5) and they're almost available for whatever atty/battery combo you could think up.

My juicebox actually fits nicely in a front pocket, and the curved sides make it not that noticeable. You could probably get a 3xAA case (which is 2 actual batteries and 1 slot for wiring/whatever you want to throw in there) setup. The factory batteries just don't last long enough between charges in my opinion.
The only real problem with the box mods are the aesthetics. If you prefer something more sleek there are also flashlight mods around (using those little mini-flashlights for a case) that are more slender and still get (from what i hear) around 8-10 hours battery life.

And waldo....150 bucks? YIKES! mine cost me 50 on ebay ;) same model, new in case. It just doesn't vape like a 510 does. (510 cost me 50 including shipping from the factory in china) Battery life is way better, but vapor production makes me sad. To each his/her own I suppose.
