So it looks like the Longshoreman's union is going to go out on strike this weekend, but they are just talking about striking on East Coast and Gulf Coast docks.

How do you think this might effect vapers? Since most of our hardware comes from China, it is probably coming in through West Coast ports, but some of it make come through the Panama Canal to ports in NY, VA and TX to be sent to distributors and retailers on the East Coast. Just imagine if there were NO new product coming in from China for a few weeks, or even a few months?

Longshoreman Union strikes tend to last a LONG time, because they are a stubborn, tough bunch, and their management tends to be some of the most greedy, sociopathic dirtbags in Corporate America.

most of the vendors have decent inventories and most of the smaller people get stuff through services like DHL and ups, that have their own fleet of planes and such, like if you call health cabin for something.

it will mess up places like walmart and bestbuy for sure............

Not as much as it sucks to make millions/year running a company into the ground.

The longshoremen and the labor union have temporarily delayed the strike for another 30 days while more negotiations are held. In reality, had there been a strike, the president most likely would have enabled the Taft-Hartley act and forced them to work since it would have such a major negative effect on commerce. That aside, the majority of containers from Asia typically sail into west coast ports, BC or Mexico. LA and Long Beach just experienced a similar scare but they reached an agreement and are working at full capacity.
All of this because the longshoremen and union reps think they deserve higher container royalties from the steamship lines. It is essentially blackmail using our economy as a pawn. Gooooo Unions!:rolleyes:
