This was posted on a global company's employee website

My friend who showed this to me is barred from posting anything about her job online and can get fired for it. For this reason I am not disclosing the company and changing a few words around which will be in italics. The relevant parts have not been altered.

Electronic cigarettes are known to include nicotine which is what gets smokers so addicted. Since the industry isn't regulated, there could be other harmful, cancer–causing chemicals in them–have you ever smoked coolant (anti-freeze), the chemical found in a car's cooling system (radiator)?

Ever inhaled propylene glycol, electronic cigarettes emit this as vapor, also used as dry smoke in fog machines?

They also are dangerous by increasing and expediting the chemicals that rush to the brain.

I did not change the message they were sending in any way. Just tweaked it to make it harder to claim it was posted by a employee of this company. I would hate for my friend to get fired. But this is crap. Check out the following quote from Dr. Konstantinos Farsalinos who is published on the ECF site.

Although we used experienced vapers, the levels of absorption were around one third of that from tobacco – you’d need to vape for 35 minutes to get plasma nicotine levels similar to smoking one tobacco cigarette in five minutes.

Yeah, lets expedite that rush of chemicals, woo wee gimme that rush! wait how long will it take? So smoking gets chemicals into my system faster, not vaping. And what did you say about there being 1,000s of chemicals in cigarettes compared to just the few ingredients of e-liquid. 1,000s of chemicals way, way more dangerous than the nicotine in an e-cig. And please let me vape some anti-freeze. Oh wait there are different concentrations/chemical make ups of propelyne glycol (i.e.Ethylene glycol and Diethylene glycol) which have different uses and are dangerous. And those are not in e-liquid.

I wonder how many other companies are spreading this crap to their employees

It's a disgrace.

I don't know where this idea about vaping being so "extreme" with getting nicotine into the system came from?

Somebody in the UK was trying to say that 16mg liquid was 16mg per 10 puffs and that the industry has deliberately "set" this to get us hopelessly hooked. Her argument was that some of us were vaping 400mg or more per day.

and these people just get away with it....

I must admit, I do often find myself worrying if there are some companies that mix dangerous chemicals in the e-liquid... But than again, I was a smoker for six years and knowingly place 1000's of dangerous chemicals into my system every single day.

Same here, I only buy juice from a local shop where one of My family members does the mixing. I know exactly what's going into it. I will never buy juice from overseas same as the cartridges that are pre made. I just don't trust I'm getting only good stuff. That said It probably wouldn't be any worse then what I got from smoking analogs. I honestly don't trust the companies that make analogs they put a ton of crap in there and there was no disclosure to the public for many, many years after and only when they were forced to do it.

Hey there greeneyes fellow Marylander

Propylene glycol is found in anti-freeze (coolant).

Yes it is but it is how it is chemically formulated, ph balance and stuff, that allows it to be used in anti freeze.

This from wikipedia

Propylene glycol, on the other hand, is considerably less toxic than ethylene glycol and may be labeled as "non-toxic antifreeze". It is used as antifreeze where ethylene glycol would be inappropriate, such as in food-processing systems or in water pipes in homes where incidental ingestion may be possible. As confirmation of its relative non-toxicity, the FDA allows propylene glycol to be added to a large number of processed foods, including ice cream, frozen custard, and baked goods.

just another misnomer

I will not vape liquid from china. I only use juices made here in the states, FEMA/GRAS and preferred AEMSA certified

There are a few companies I have come to trust.

Than again, the FDA deems a lot of unsafe chemicals as safe and effective, in which some are not.
