Thanks for all the help guys for the help in another thread of mine. Since my batteries are seven months old, I figure they will need replacing sometime. Can anyone recommend a good upgrade?

I have been using the ego. My latest setup with it is the t-style. Before that I used mega attys and carts.

I am a bit too picky about looks so I don't like box mods. Mods may be too confusing overall, because I don't understand volts and ohms even though I learned about them in a physical science class. When it comes to electronics I am dumb (except computers, I am gadget and computer intelligent).

Also I would like something that is versatile with different parts - cartomizers, atomizers, etc. Battery life is important as well.

Another big thing is the carts, tanks, cartos, etc need to hold more than 1.5 ml preferably 2 ml or more. When I am in classes, I don't have much time for fiddling with filling carts, attys, cartos, etc. Leaking problems will be very bad as I won't have time to cleanup any messes between classes (the buildings I am in are 8 minutes apart and I have 10 minutes between classes).

I am far from rich as I am not only a student, but a single mom of three kids, so cost is important too.

I am not looking to buy yet, but when I will be, I will be super busy so I won't have time to research. While I am in college, my summer load is lighter than my fall and spring loads. So now is the time to get something in mind. Most likely my batteries will start dying during one of my busy terms. If I don't have something in mind, I will end up having to go with more egos so that way I won't be without.

Feel free to ask me questions about preferences I may have left out. During my last busy term, I didn't come here much so I am still a bit of a newbie. I used what I knew worked (ego with mega atty and mega carts) and didn't learn about much else.

If you're happy with your eGo set-up, why not just buy a couple of spare eGo batteries? Cignot has a pink eGo kit with two 650 mah batteries, a charger, and a couple of 510 attys for $45 on their index page right now. That's a pretty good deal. Lots of places carry eGo batteries and 1000 mah eGo batts can be had for around $20/ea.

riva batteries are an eGo clone (same form factor). Liberty Flights usually has a really good deal on a Riva kit (same sort of thing - 2 batts, a charger, and a couple of attys).

Since box mods are out, that pretty much leaves tube mods. But what exactly is it that you're wanting? The ability to use LR atties and cartos? More throat hit and vapor? Longer battery life?

I think these two articles from Vaping Guides will help you figure out volts and ohms, as well as the different types of mods that are available:

The Mod Buyers Guide

What Are These LR and HV Atties?

One suggestion I can throw out is the E-Power. It's basically an eGo that uses a stand alone battery.

No matter what you choose, you'll still be able to use atomizers for dripping, cartomizers and tanks, such as the MAP tank.

Once my batteries die (hopefully not soon) I am hoping for more versatility. From what I understand there are some options that are available to the ego. For example dual coil cartos can be used but they are not recommended.

Vapor production, amount of liquid the cart, carto, tank can hold, cost, battery life, versatility (can use more types of cartos, tanks, carts, etc) life of the product (like how many months it will last), quality, lack of leakage, are my main factors.

It was recommended above that I stick with the ego. While I like the ego and think cignot is great...Vicki has been absolutely wonderful with helping me, I wish the ego was more versatile (or that the makers of the cartos and such were more versatile). But I understand that vaping products are still relatively new and a work in progress.

Other than LR items below 2.0 ohms, the ego can run anything 510 threaded... which is a lot of stuff.

If you want something else entirely, I can make one suggestion that might appeal to you. The megalodon from electronicstix is a versatile tube mod that can be used in two configurations (short and long), can accept a ton of different batteries for 3.7, 5.0, and 6.0 volt vaping. What makes this particular mod interesting besides the different battery configurations is the new end cap design. It can use eGo mega and eGo-t attys (and eGo specific cartos) without the need for any special adapters. So, the gear you are already invested in will work with the Don out of the box.

So, it can use anything you already have, plus it can handle low resistance attys and cartos that are not recommended for use on the eGo.

+1 for the e-power. It's strong points are modular design and good batteries that don't break the bank to replace. At around 45 for a complete kit, it's a lot of bang for the buck imo. Here's a link if you want to see one. Slide it out to about 2:30 and start from there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aYsopWHVkg
