I'm looking for a Caramel flavoring that has a certain characteristic, perhaps someone can help point me in the right direction.

Caramel is simply sugar that's heated to a certain temperature, such that it becomes a a very sweet thick brown sauce. As more heat is applied to it, it begins to develop a burned or toasted flavor, such that the more it is heated, it will lose its sweetness and become more and more bitter as it burns. I'm looking for a brand of caramel flavoring that has a little touch of that toasted taste. I wonder what the differences may be between one caramel flavor brand and another, and if anyone in the forum can point me in the correct direction before I order. At this point, I know of Flavor Apprentice, Flavor Art, Hangsen, LorAnn - which of these might be closest to having that toasted flavor? Any suggestion is most appreciated... thanks...

Thanks @ubergeek922 - seems that's what I'm looking for. I do have the Caramel Candy from TFA, but wanted to check with the forum before I pulled the trigger on the TFA Caramel ...

Over the course of looking it up just now, I notice TFA has 3 different kinds of Caramel:

Caramel Candy - this seems to be the most popular of the 3

Caramel - seems to be a newer version

Caramel (Original) - described as "This is our original caramel, back by popular request. More rich than candylike, with a toasty, maple, brown sugar flavor." - maybe this is what I'm looking for!
