Hello everyone, I'm a new member to the site and due to the posting restrictions I figured I would make a thread here. I'm in need of a little direction when it comes to PV's. I had smoked for 16 years, and just recently quit a few months ago. That sounds great I know, but the bad part is I continued using chewing tobacco to fulfill my nicotine addiction. The problem is, I don't really like chewing. I used to actually enjoy smoking, I just didn't like the harmful effects it had.

So I've been doing a lot of research and looking around on line in regards to what would be a good PV for me. I have never seen a PV in person and don't know anyone personally who uses one so I am looking for some help in finding one that will fit my needs.

I used to smoke about a pack and a half of USA Gold Lights a day. And I enjoyed the whole process of smoking. So I would like to find a PV that has a good feel, a good tobacco taste, and a good amount of vapor to aid my mind in believing that I'm smoking. The main problem is with so many different kinds of PV's out there I don't know:
1.What all do I need to start using these on a daily basis without running out in a day or two.
2.What is better, buying pre-filled carts or buying eliquid and re-filling them myself.

I've looked at a couple on line and I like the Joye eGo for various reasons like good battery life, large amount of vapor, and an overall good look.
I have also looked into Blu's and other smaller units but have read the battery life is not very good on some of the smaller units.

So any and all help would be wonderful, as I am looking to purchase a PV within the next week or two. And hopefully kick my chewing habit.

Thanks in advance.

What it boils down to is just try something and then move on to different "format" if that doesn't work for you. If you look at some of the helpful stuff in the library you'll see there are all kinds of options for vaping.
My own recommendation would be a 510 or KR808D battery with a cartomizer ( atomizer built into each cartirdge ), these are basically the same setup though there is a lot of various opinions on which is best. Again, just pick one and try it, everybody is different, therefore their opinions are different.
After you try this setup you may be perfectly happy or move on to something more robust ( wait till you see mods:p). there is a great list of vendors towards the bottom of the front page, check it out!

You're on the right track, an ego is a great start. I'd recommend getting a few spare 510 attomizers (I prefer the LR attys for my Ego) and a few different juices to try, I don't like tobacco flavored ones but I've heard good things about Frisco from Vaporstation.com. If you can afford it you may also want to get a couple of Ego XL batteries as well, they last even longer. You also shouldn't be paying more than $50 for an Ego starter kit.

Hey.

Welcome.

e-Cigs can work for you.

I'll give you some general advice... and then I'll give you my personal recommendation.

General advice: opinions, advice and recommendations will fly in...
You have come to a good place. ECF is great. I really don't know if I would have made it without it.

There are 6... YES 6 of these. Here's part one of 6...

Invaluable.

I think the eGo is a great starter kit... and the price has come down far enough where it's just a bit more than the 510...

Some folks also like to start with a KR808 (V4L has good kits)

Personal (Biased) advice:
Spend a little extra dough...

1. Get an eGo from one of our supporting suppliers.
2. Get a drip tip, and a 5 pack of carts and a 5 pack of cartomizers. Not pre-filled.
3. Get liquids from 3 to 5 reputable supporting suppliers.
4. Get 2 extra atomizers

with the liquid and drip tip, a package like this will run you between 80-100.

ok if you go to BlueMist Vaping Supplies you can buy 150ml bottle for 25$ thats a damn good deal i vape from 1 to 2 ml a day they also have 5 10ml flavor sample pack for 20$ also a good deal, some people vape 5ml a day. i know that the juice there is made by that company fresh and not over seas. its way cheaper to buy liquid than prefilled carts, i also like the blue foam from StrictlyEjuice.com, Flavor Shop!

Thank you everyone for the advice and the welcome's!

VPN: I'm trying to avoid jumping around from product to product. But I do understand that one device may not suit my needs and will have to look for another. I'm just trying to find the best fit before I spend my money.
I like the look and two piece function of the 510, but have read that the battery life isn't very good. And that is something that will be an important factor in my decision.

Lasttango: I was looking at this kit from cignot.com, (It wont let me post the link, but it is the two complete unit starter kit.) Is there any vendors that are favored here, or is there one that focuses on the eGo equipment?

im stuck on the whole looking like a cig thing still, not like a AA battery strapped to a atty

In that case you should check out the KR808D-1. It has, by all reports, a longer lasting battery charge than the 510 and uses cartomizers instead of separate carts and attys. There is also an XL battery available for it that extends the length of time between charges at higher amperage. I just started vaping with the KR8 to try and end a PAD habit of over 30 years. After less than a week I've cut back on analogs by 75%. It is only a bit larger than an analog and still gives the same look and feel. Starter kits are available for about $30.00 - $50.00. There is a thread in the KR808D-1 forum that lists the current suppliers and starter kit/shipping prices. Good luck.

For trying to decide on which e-liquid you might like, go to StrictlyEjuice and look at their lineup. You can get 3ml bottles for $2.10 each with free shipping over $10. (Don't get their Sample Pack, too restrictive.)

So, if you buy five 3ml bottles you pay $10.50 and get free shipping.

Also look at their 510 ($34.95) and 901 ($27.00) starter packs (no eGo or other fancy mods, though). Their cost is about the same as from China but without the high shipping cost.

Thanks for the heads up on the eliquid. I'm also starting to look for a 510 kit because I am seriously considering getting a Chuck made. But I want something small and easy to carry with me when I'm on the motorcycle or out with the wife. I'll also need something for the time it will take to receive my Chuck.

The problem I'm running into while looking for a 510 kit is putting everything together for what I will need for a few weeks of vaping until I get the Chuck. Like for instance, should I buy extra atty's and blank carts for the 510 or do they sell cartomizers that work with the 510?

StrictlyEjuice only sells atomizers, not cartomizers, for the 510. Oddly, it seems they don't sell cartridges, either.

However, look at MadVapes for 510 kits and accessories.
They do sell atomizers, cartridges and cartomizers for it.
Their prices are comprible to StrictlyEjuice and China.
Their shipping isn't bad either: $2.99 up to $45, free over $45.
