Looking for a little info

Hello, I am looking for some recommendations to get started. Before I start, I'll say I have done a fair amount of research, including some threads on this forum but really have turned up only some conflicting opinions. I'll begin by saying I have been looking at the vapor king products. They appear to be a decent start up kit. I am looking for something that roughly resembles a real cigarette (At this point I don't want one of the larger vaporizers) . At this point my main concern is battery life, I don't mind charging batteries but I would like to get at least a few hours per battery. Please give me some input of the vapor kings or a more desirable product, thanks.

My 510 with with 750 MAh batteries lasts me all day. It is slightly bigger than an analog, maybe as fat as a Sharpie marker. It doesn't look like an analog, as it is black and gold, and there is no "fire" at the end. However, I have tried the Blu, which looks a lot more like an analog, and I have to tell you, it is a compromise I am really glad I made. It is the only product I can recommend, as it is only the second one I tried, and I really, really like it. Personally, it is much more about the draw feeling more like an analog then the actual unit feeling like an analog. I am sure you will get plenty of recommendations from others. This is a very helpful web site. Happy vaping!

My mother has this kit and likes it.

Vapor King Premium E-Cig Kits and Cases - Vape On!

I'd recommend XL manual batteries, but they are very long. The shorter battery looks more 'cigarette' like but batteries only last an hour or two. If you get the shorter style, definitely get extra batteries and a personal charge case.

^^^ What Swedishfish said :) The KR808 is a popular model with decent battery life (for its size). I believe MistressNomad's videos (http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-videos-newbies-particular-broke-newbies.html) show one so you can get a feel for its look/size and how to use it properly.

You can look at one at THE EASY STARTER KIT- KR808D-1 Cigeasy is a reputable vendor and they include a 10ml bottle of liquid with the kit. If you find its something you're interested in using, be sure to get an extra battery or two and some samples of the various strengths/flavors of liquid.

And welcome to ECF! :)

I loved my ego from the day I got it. For me, I wanted something with a long battery life that would deliver and keep me off analogs. That did the trick.

I wasn't concerned about the way it looked, in fact I didn't want something that resembled a cigarette. But many people seem to feel they'd like something that resembles a cigarette. If that's the case, start with something like a KR808. You might love it and it's perfect for you. I don't know how much or how long you smoked- you may want something a little different down the line. Most people don't seem to stay with their first pv regardless.

Just buy from a reliable vendor so that you can purchase accessories for it.

I recommend standard manual batteries. I bought the shorties first and spare shorties and then realized I want more battery charge life and bought the standards. But you could try the shorties first too - manual shorties. Makes it more the size of a cig.

Manuals because it is much much easier to kill an auto battery with a juice leak out the bottom of a cartomizer. KR8 manuals still have a hole in the end of the battery but are not dependent in a drag sensor there. Manuals also give you more control of your hit and won't turn on accidentally from wind or vibration.

If I had to do over, I would have initially bought an eGo or Riva kit. The 510 small batteries and I didn't get along...I had to charge them constantly...about every 45 minutes as I vaped constantly. Liberty-flights has these kits and are reasonably priced. Use the discount tab at the top of the page. Shipping is cheap and quick.

I second the KR808D-1. Their battery life is the best you are going to find in an e-cig that resembles a cig (and not a box, cigar, or a screwdriver). The 280mah KR808 batteries (the standard size) are about the length of a 100s cig with the cartomizer attached. The XLs are about the size of a pen.

I have two regular sized manual batteries, one XL automatic battery, and I'm happy. I use the manual batteries for actual nicotine replacement, using high nicotine cartomizers, and the XL battery for low or no nicotine cartomizers for chain vaping. I'm always near a USB port so I'm always recharging, but I vape all the time.

If I was starting over again, I would go with a 510 for vapor production and a couple of the XL batteries for battery life, along with a USB passthrough for when I am at a computer and a couple of chargers so I can charge the batteries overnight. That's my kit now and I have no problems with it at all. Batteries last all day, even if I do give them a bit of a kicking!

I just recommended the little box mod kit from madvapes for a couple of my friends and they love them. It comes with a charger, 2 14500 batts, the box w/ 510 connector, 2attys, and a 5 pack of 2.0ohm cartos and a bottle of tobacco juice. All for 45.99. Now it doesn't look like an analog, but it sure does work well. I recommend it to anyone.

If you get standard batteries you should be able to charge one in less than the amount of time it takes for you to use one up. A light to moderate vaper can get 3-4 hours or more out of a standard KR8 battery. Charging should take more like 2 hours. Will you have a charging cable at work or depending on a PCC?

I like to have 3 batteries, 2 charging cables at home, and 1 charging cable at work. Overnight I charge 2 batteries and leave one complete ecig set up from late night until morning so I can vape the minute I get up with no assembly required. Then when I leave for work I put the overnight battery on to charge and take the 2 charged batteries and charged PCC with me (PCC mainly for if we go out after work since at work I use a charging cable). NOte - if you get shorties, you should be able to charge a shorty in the time it takes to use up a shorty.

Cartos - buy juice - you will be adding liquid to them (and again I recommend MANUAL batteries). Get some carto blanks and some carto flavors you are pretty sure you will like. I recommend the WOW Tobacco Sampler pack of cartos mainly because it has WOWbacco and WOWboy in them (a cocoa tobacco, and WOW Boy is the same but with a bit of mint added). With other samplers I've had mixed luck - like some flavors, not like others. If they have WOW Vanilla cartos in stock - those are a nice sweet marshmallowy vanilla and a good flavor for topping off with just about any juice you have.

I can usually get 4-7 days use out of a Vapor4Life carto, sometimes longer. But you need to keep them damp so you don't singe the stuffing. I also recommend a drip tip as a mouthpiece (to use instead of the white soft-cap if a carto is a bit hot or just to have a smaller size mouthpiece - easy to take out for adding a bit of juice). Always take the carto OFF the battery when adding juice. And make sure the threaded end is clean and dry and the central air channel clear of juice (you should be able to see light through it - blow into the threaded end to clear it if needed. Sop up any loose juice pooled above the stuffing. Then cap and vape.
