It's been sometime since i've visited this forum. I bought 2 901 penstyles a while ago and I liked it I went back to analogs and didn't look back. my 901's have been sitting in box for months now.

However I introduced the ecig to a few friends and thats all they use now. So I think im going to try this again. Here's the complaints and problems I had with my penstyles that kept me from using it.

1. Carts didn't fit well, they always seemed to get stuck and when I pulled them out the fiber or whatever the filter like stuff would be stuck on the atomizer. and I wasn't to fond of getting that liquid on my fingers but at work didn't have time to go find tweezers.

2. I was never really impressed with the amount of vapor or how long the carts lasted. I work outside a lot so I did like the size because it fit in my jean pockets easily so that was a plus, battery life seemed to be ok and always had a second to get me through the day so tht wasn't to much of a problem either.

3. I found refilling carts to much of a hassle so either im going to switch to something that has really long lasting prefilled carts or order more prefilled carts. maybe sometime Ill get the hang of refilling but starting out as I said I thought was a hassle.

so based on this does anyone have recommendations for me as to what model of ecig to try next.

I was in pretty much the same boat. My njoy penstyle didn't have enough kick. My mini dse901 had plenty of kick however it needed constant cart refilling. This time around I am going to try metal drip tips with the Riva. Dripping always seems to end up being the best option for consistently getting good throat hits and avoiding those dreadful final cart hits.

I would give the Kr808D-1 a try.

It has slightly less vapor production than the 901, but you can solve this by using juices that contain VG (vegetable glycerin). That will boost the vapor production a lot. So will using high-quality juice (more below).

It has a longer battery life, and a full cartomizer should last you 3-4 hours of moderate-to-heavy vaping before it needs a top-up. They're also very easy to refill. I just take 3 full cartomizers with me and I'm set all day.

Kr808D-1's are considered to be the "hassle-free" e-cig. It may be to your liking.

I would recommend ElectroNicStix for your kit. I had a great experience with them.

FreedomSmokeUSA also carries some very good juices with high vapor production. I absolutely love them.

Good luck, and let us know if you have more questions!

There is a whole subforum about them, actually. :)

I also use a Kr808D-1, so I'm happy to help if you have questions.

Actually I am a bit more curious about the joye or janty ego. where can I find more information about this, sorry im tired, going to bed after this. spent this entire time browsing this site. all I could find was information on 510's when I was looking.

How's the cart size on them and the amount of vapor?

The eGo is another really good model, with really good battery life (longer than the Kr8 - most people get 5-10 hours). They also get pretty awesome vapor.

They usually use 510 atomizers and carts. In my experience, the carts go for about an hour, maybe a bit less.

But you can buy eGo Mega atomizers and carts, which go considerably longer. I've heard 4 or 5 hours. They fit right on the eGo battery.

CigNot is a very well-loved supplier of 510 and eGo stuff, so check them out. :)

EGOs, Tornados.....

Are basicaly big batteries for the 510 fitting attie
The 510 is the best hitting attie on the market.
its been on the go now for about 18 months.

stay clear of the 510 mega attie (not to be confused with the ego/tornado mega)

The ego tornado mega attie/carto makes the ego/tornado battery look a bit like a cigar (well in width any way) it also has a wistle tip.

The ego tonado mega attie is very good, I have 3 of these.
the std 510 attie is very good as well, I have 10 of these and always keep a stock.

All in all you can't go wrong with them.

Liquid wise the mega lasts longer than a std by about 10 fold

Ok expect to get flack here but pesonaly I would stay clear of the cartos, I find them harsh cheap and nasty....all cartos. The mega was rubish, the soft 510 rubish the hard 510.....rubish

The key to staying exclusively with e-cigs is to start using them like you did when you first started smoking. When we first start smoking, it takes practice. The practice turns into routine, routine turns into ritual, and ritual turns into a full-blown habit. It took you longer than you think to really make a habit out of smoking cigarettes, so it's going to take just as long to get into the habit of using e-cigs.

Also, what I have found out (and what you have experienced) it it's not about the e-cig itself, it's about the liquid and how it's applied. Cartomizers, prefilled cartridges, refillable cartridges, fine-tuned ratios of PG/VG in the liquid, flavor, etc. I am more of a fan of big vapor vs big throat hit, and love sweet tobacco flavors. I also prefer a long, slow drag rather than a fast drag. But for some reason, I like the ritual of topping off my cartridge, so the small carts that come with 901's are great for me and I use it on my DSE-905 Screwdriver (I also have an RN4072 pen-style which take much less refilling).

In closing, take your time with them, and maybe try a different model. The RN4072/DSE-801 pen style e-cigs have larger cartridges, and perform well.
