I'm curious for other's input to their favorite mech mods. Preferably under $100. Idc if its a clone if its a good clone. Telescoping or with a tube big enough for 18650 and at least the option of putting a magnetic button on it. Springs cause drop and also wear out.

my friend got a stingray clone and the magentic button literally just stopped working after 3 days, so I'm not too impressed.
I have a magneto and just recently sold my k100 and nemesis. I like my magneto so much more than either one, so I sold them for a new mech

Go with a higher end Stingray clone like hcigar or Infinite and you should have no problems
Then he just got a bad one. Never heard of that happening with Hcigar clones. I've got one, and it's the most solid mod I currently own.
Just out of curiosity, did your friend clean the mod before use? You should ALWAYS clean mods. My Stingray had a problem with the switch too, it was pretty crunchy and would actually get stuck in the firing position. Not good. Then I took the switch apart and cleaned the whole thing with rubbing alcohol, and the switch works flawlessly now. No sticking, no crunch. Smooth as glass.

My favorite clone is my panzer. Its build solid. Great firing button. I also like that the firing button sits flush so you don't have to lock it to stand it up. My stingray from infinite is my work mod if that tells u anything.its ok. Just not one of my favorites. Jmo.
No need to get offended, we're just exploring all avenues as to what may have been the root cause of the issue. What if you were a person who didn't know about the cleaning? You would have welcomed this advice with open arms.
I have brass infinite stingray on the way and I'm more than excited. And I'm a provarinati... Very excited to have a wealth of power at my disposal, provari just hasn't quite been cutting it with my trident v2, and my new dome genny is surely going to shine on that thing

yea, it seems the infinity stingrays are higher quality than hcigars. will definitely check that out.
Copper hades is great especially after breaking in the spring.
