Hello and welcome to ecf. A lot of juice vendors offer a 0 nic. At the top of this forum is a link to the forum suppliers that are registered with ecf. Lots come to mind. Velvet vapors, backwoods brew, fsusa. Have a look- see.

Just so you know. The ejuice that goes into ecigs only contain pg./vg and flavorings. And of course nic if you want. No other chemicals.

Almost all of the good vendors will sell you no-nic versions of their juices. You see their names all over this board: Tasty Vapor, Freedom Flights, FreedomSmokeUSA, etc.

But... why do you want to start doing this? Are you quitting smoking? If you aren't a smoker, I would recommend against adopting this habit. It's not nearly as harmful a smoking, but it's probably not completely harmless.

What toxic chemicals are you referencing? There are 8000 chemicals in cigarette smoke, about half of them potentially toxic and many carcinogenic. Vaping juice contains glycerin, food flavors, and nicotine. All of the vendors make zero nicotine juice.

I'll second this. Not sure what toxic chemicals IwannaStop is refering to?

Ecigs themselves don't come in inherent flavors or nicotine levels unless it's a disposable ecig. A real ecig may come with some prefilled carts or cartomizers. If an ecig only comes with prefilled carts or cartos and 0mg is not offered, buy some blank cart or cartos for it or some 0mg ones elsewhere, and buy 0 mg eliquid. If there are no blank carts or cartos for an ecig, then don't buy it. Every decent model has blank carts and/or cartomizers available.

If you want organic type juice w/ no artificial flavors at all see Vaperite.com

I recommend the videos for Newbies in the sticky threads at the top of New Members

What do you smoke? What brand and strength?

Thank you all for such quick responses. And yes I tend to get overwhelmed with all the information so I appreciate your help. I have been smoking for many many years 20 years, and I want to quit. That's it. Nothing glamorous, just that I am tired of all the horrible side affects that cigarettes cause to my health. I look at this is as a healthier alternative but understand that it is not "healthy". Smoking is a very hard habit to quit, and vaping does seem to help me. I have tried individual e-cigs to pull me through cravings, and am at the point that I want to commit to it over regular cigarettes (I guess they are called 'analogs").

In doing some research I came across an article by the FDA that stated that several products were tested and that they contained toxic materials. Here is the article

FDA and Public Health Experts Warn About Electronic Cigarettes

and here is another:

http://www.fda.gov/downloads/Drugs/ScienceResearch/UCM173250.pdf.

I will look at all the ones specifically recommended. Thanks again guys!

Most of what we listed are juice companies. Some may have some hardware.

How many packs do you smoke per day so we'll have some idea of what hardware to recommend?

And I recommend manual batteries - more control of your hit and less likely to be killed by juices drips. ALso won't turn on accidentally from wind or vibration.

Look at (for 510, at LiteCigUSA.net or Cignot.com or NoSMokeVA for a nice manual kit 2/ PCC)
Joye 510 - 2-3 hour battery for a light vaper, 1/2 that for a heavy vaper
Joye 510 w/ mega xl batteries - 60% more battery charge
KR808D-1 (LiteCigUSA.net or Vapor4Life.com) - you could use blank cartos and fill with any juice loose enough for cartos (KR8 w/ standard battery. same life as 510 mega xl, or 280mah or charge)

fatter, can use low resistance aka LR parts to give a hotter stronger hit
Joye Ego (see Cignot.com, or Liberty-Flights.com and click their 20% off)
Riva 510 (Liberty-flights.com and click their 20% off)

Thanks Dormouse! That helps a lot. I smoke about 1 pack a day but noticed that I since I quit I have not been smoking nearly as much so I only really probably need something with medium vapor, to light. I am assuming based on the overwhelming consensus of responses, that ordering pre-filled cartridges, are out dated. Seems like everyone is now filling their own.

2-piece ecig (battery+cartomizer aka carto)
If you buy a Vapor4Life.com of KR808D-1, some people buy prefilled cartomizers then keep topping them off with their own juice. others just use blank cartos. Some "name" web brands claim a cartomizer lasts as long as a pack or even 1.5 packs of cigs but that is an exaggeration. If you keep one damp with juice then you can use one for days until it tastes bad or performance degrades. If you run one dry you singe them and can't reuse them. Some people go through 3 per day. It's just no cost efficient to discard them. If you buy random 2-piece brand on the web, you may end up with cartomizers that are purposely harder to refill and automatic batteries which are more easily killed by drips.

3-piece ecig - battery+atomizer+cartridge aka cart
Re prefilled carts as in the type that stick on an atomizer? No - very few people would buy prefilled. Each only lasts for maybe 6 cigarettes worth. You get a pack of prefilled when you buy the ecig and then reuse and wash and restuff them and keep using your own juice. They need juice often because the top of the stuffing gets dry. Assuming you buy a decent 3-piece that has blank cartomizers available, many people stop using cart+atty and switch to using blank cartomizers.

If you are rich, you could actually buy any ecig on the web and buy tons of prefilled carts or cartos and just hope the company doesn't disappear or get inventory shortages. People come here every day with problems like that. Some of the web "name" brands may have decent prefilled carts. But you won't know anything about what's in the juice and I thought that was one of your concerns.

In doing some research I came across an article by the FDA that stated that several products were tested and that they contained toxic materials.

Actually, that study supports the safety of vaping, not casts in in doubt as they try to spin it. The toxic materials they found were in only two of the tested carts, and even in those, the levels were far, far below the amount that would be considered a risk. Also, even farther below the levels found in cigarettes.
