Your friend has it dead wrong. If it was all about the nicotine, then the patch would work REALLY well..after all it has everything going for it, it can be worn discretely and with little effort re-applied anywhere at any time. Yet I do not know of a single person for whom it has worked. In fact I think that the claims of even a 7% success rate are bogus.

The truth is that no one ever really studied the act of smoking when they were originally going after big tobacco and launching their hate campaigns, to see what the attraction truly was.

The e-cig has taken off the way it has precisely because it creates the act of smoking in its entirety. The pause to lift something to your mouth, the slow inhale of warmth and weight, the exhale with the satisfying clouds that drift and dissipate.
And yes, fewer blind people smoke than sighted....have you ever seen a smoker who did not watch the smoke when they expelled it..at least part of the time, along with watching the smoke of others if they are in the company of friends who also indulge? Yet the blind do cook, light fires, even (in the case of a friend of mine) use scented candles that require lighting, not to mention that some burn incense for the scent.

The fact is that the act of smoking engages many senses at the time it is happening beyond the hit of nic that stays in your body afterwards. Even the "time out" that it creates is a factor in the process, which is just one more reason why all the constant nic delivery systems do not work.

I need both. But if I would have to choose either nicotine or vapor in a PV, I think I would put on those nic patches and use a PV for the vapor effect.
I need nicotine because I'm addicted. But what I like the most about smoking is the "ritual", and vapor as a lot to do about it. I love being outside and see the vapor coming out of my mouth, I love blowing it, I love to see it.. I think that's why nicotine patches and gums didn't work for me. My nic craving was satisfied, but theres was no vapor/smoke involved so I was missing something...
Also..I like to go outside with the smokers, and I think it would just feel weird not to blow anything..

For me,#1.nicotene#2flavour and #3.vapor,I gave up reg smokes, but I am addicted to nicotene. I also do snus and stonewalls nic tabs. Also as a vet,I have been stockpiling nic patches and longenzes for an emergency! You never know when disaster will strike,so it is good to have a stock of pain meds, toilet paper(mom has sooo much T.P...LOL!it cracks me up!) I am also stocking up on 48mg nicotene juice, cuz I think they will ban it. Our freedoms are being taken away from us,but I will never give my right to bear arms away.

For me both are equally important. I get my satisfaction for nicotine and my enjoyment of "smoking"... without the stank and health issues associated with analogs. Thats why I do it. I enjoyed smoking analogs for 30 years and I quit so I could live long and annoy my fiance for a long long time..LOL I didnt change over to quit the "habit". So its nicotine for my cravings and vapor for my pleasure.

If given the choice between High Vapor/Low Nic or High Nic/Low Vapor I Choose.....

High Vapor/Low Nic.

I love the Nicotine(cept its toxic) but Yeah I think the Vapor is what satisfies the mental urges.

And I have a HUGE mental. ;)

Exactly!!!! I guess if I had to choose between the two I would go for vapor. It is definately the psychological satisfaction.

Nicotine for me, although the vapor is pleasant and necessary to achieve the overall effect of an e-cig's enjoyment, IMHO.

Also, if one is concerned about exhaling excess vapor in situations where it could cause problems, try holding the inhaled vapor longer than a "normal" inhale/exhale cycle. Not only does that reduce visible vapor in those situations, but less nicotine is "wasted" into the air, thus providing more "bang for the buck," so to speak.

I find that exhaling slowly from my nose also provides improved nicotine intake while exhaling less vapor (when the vapor remains in my lungs for a longer period).
