After lurking here on and off for a year or so and (recently) watching more videos I've decided to order a good PV. Problem is I can't seem to find exactly what I want all in the same kit so I'm going the piece by piece route. Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated. I've tried ecigs, thought they were a waste of money. Also tried a Da Vinci dry herb PV but it's pretty shaky -long warm ups, over heating the ejuice...

My budget is ~100.00. I'm looking for something similar to a vv/vw zmax 3.0. (tube shape, about the size of a medium cigar with tank)

I want batteries and refills to last as long as possible. For a clearomizer/tank I'm also hoping to avoid replaceable parts or general maintenance if possible. I might pay extra for the best here.

Been looking at mechanicals too but the consensus there seems to be "for advanced users only". But after rebuilding a few motorcycles I wonder if I might be able to pull it off..? :pop:

Gonna say you could totally pull off a mech. As long as you can wrap your head around a few simple formulas (there is even an app for it now) and know how to use a multimeter you'd be just fine.

mechs aren't restricted to 'advanced users' I'd say. Building coils can be mastered in a few hours or less and after about 20 minutes of reading up on battery amp limitations and what that means to you, you're all set.

Thanks for the replies/advice. This site is great.

I've been window shopping so long I probably confused myself. So here's what I got, all from the same ebay vendor.

Vamo V5
AGA-TD dual coil genesis (510-Zhuhai Yuode)
stainless steel drip tip
SODA dual battery charger
2 3.7v efest IMR 18350's

In all it was 108.00. Now over to the Mt. Baker juice bar...:D

The Vamo is nice, I have the V2 & V3.. I would recommend that you pick up one or two extra 18350's. I go through at least three a day. Just my 2¢

You might like a GENESIS HYBRID setup.
Has a tank below an attached rba and a battery tube all in one. You'll be able to play with coil and wick setups for it.
Something like this:
$31.71 I-Hybrid V3 Mod Rechargeable E-Cigarette Set - silver at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Thanks for those tips. T minus 3 days and hopefully no more adulterated US tobacco.

Picked up some butterscotch, caramel, and cherry-limeade 80/20 pg/vg ejuice. Chose rush shipping -it will save me $6.50 each day I can speed things up. Will post pics and all when everything's in. Just hope the ebay seller got things shipped as fast as the juice guys. cheers. :toast:

Sounds good!

About batteries...

If longevity is your goal, I recommend Panasonic NCR18650PD's... they just don't die. I've only used them in a dry herb PV, but I saw someone post that they were reading .22 voltage drop after over 10 hours of heavy vaping. They can only put out so much current, but on a vari-volt/vari-watt mod like yours, that shouldn't be an issue (just don't go sub-ohming on them without doing the math, eh). Should be roughly $12.50 shipped for two on fasttech.

Go with sigeli zmax. I got one in may when I quite and I still consistently use it and its been dropped in cement dirt you name it. Button gets a lil touchy but I beat it and its still kicking. A provari for instance uses same chip but for 185 and a lower amp allowance. You can use two 18350s also for a 7 amp allowance. They have flat or beveled tops too I believe so if you want something to sit flush instead of small gap on beveled

If I was interested in rebuilding why waste the cash on an ego twist. Learn what is needed take cash you saved and get you a nice setup. Looks like you've been looking all ready, unless you just what to start out with something you never be happy with.[/QU

I started looking for the sigeli but ended up with the vamo v5 by KSD (whatever that means), it was 49.00, free shipping. Seemed just as good plus the same seller had everything I was looking for in one place. Went with 2 of the 18350's for the exact reason you mentioned HK.

They had a new disposable cig at the c store, Njoy being advertised on tv. "Replaces two packs" the box said. I'm almost convinced now that all the disposable ecigs are being sold by big tobacco trying to get you to go back to their main sleazy product where they make their sick cash. It lasted MAYBE as long as two cigs, not two packs...and cost a lot more than one pack. oy vey.

Varelse,

I found this place on the net: http://www.e-cigarettescn.co/egov-starter-kit-ecigarette-with-1x-ce4-p-540.html very inexpensive. I'm using the CE4 clearomizers. You can get a pack of 5 for $5.25. If one were to last two months, 5 should last a year without having to rebuild.

Right now I'm only vaping 1.6mm a day, so a tank lasts me a day. If I start vaping much more, I'll start carrying 2 tanks.

I just got a VAMO V5 on Ebay last week. Came with an Efest SODA charger (two bay) and two Efest 18650 IMR batteries, You can also choose 18350s as an option. Total 79 bucks including shipping. I love the VAMO V5 as I can tune it in. I Use Vivi Nova tanks in which I build stainless steel wicks and coil them myself. Everything works great. I'm a heavy vaporist as I was a tobacco smoker for many years. The batteries last a long time and by the time I need another, the second one is fully charged already. - Steve
