Fixed wattage setups can be hard on coils, even coils that were designed for such a setup, its harder to prime them, and you have no control over what the setup is doing for wattage and etc. I'd suggest (if you like the tank otherwise) to get a variable wattage mod, which should give you more control over the settings. One can be purchased fairly inexpensively and you may thank yourself later as you find that your coils last longer.
The best way to "elongate" the life of a coil, however, is to make sure you are vaping at lower wattages and not chain vaping, or even trying to get an RTA that you can set up with a TC capable mod, which would avoid dry hits. Do note that drop in coils MUST be made using TC wires, which often means either rebuildable coils, or coils that are made drop in but from the right materials. Wires used in order of safety: Stainless steel, titanium, and nickel. Some ceramic coils can be vaped using Temperature control mode, but it also depends on how they are designed. Some of the vapresso C-cells can do TC, as well as some of the Joytech CLR coils. Temperature control smooths out a vape considerably, but there is a bit of a learning curve. If you buy a wattage mod, you may want to be sure it can do TC, for on down the line if you decide you want to venture that route...
Best of luck,
Anna
