When initially introduced, a passthru adaptor was offered as an accessory that screwed into where the battery cap does. But this was the only adaptor that has ever been offered for the BB. The owner told me the device was expensive to manufacture, and wasn't a big seller at the time, so was dropped. I think at one time the battery compartment for the BB was larger to allow wider batteries, but it was intentionally made smaller by Altsmoke to prevent unauthorized use of anything other than the recommended 14500 battery.

I have a BB and its a great little mod that hits just as hard as its big brother, the Silver Bullet (I have one of those, too). It is small enough to stealth vape, and is surprisingly light despite its heavy aluminum build. I still use mine a fair amount when out and about with a Serenity Gear leather lanyard.

In this thread they talk about an extension. Is this the one you're also referring to?

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/altsmoke/46561-bb-updates-information-14.html

The Extended bottom Does allow you to use the !4670, I am using one right now with a low res 510 atty, They does last quite a bit longer that the AW 14500. Very nice battery... Also the custom 5v battery that is sold for the Mako & Megladon will also fit to give you 5v,,,

The one being talked about in that thread is no longer being made. I think We made 50 of those bottoms, they went the way of the Dodo some time ago.

Not sure about that one. The third and fourth batteries on this page, for the Meglodon & Mako, are the ones referred to in the post:

Yes, those are the same battery I linked to. I have used those batteries singly in a Silver Bullet for 5 volt vaping. No way would they fit in a BB, the batteries are too large in diameter.

The 4.8v nimh batteries themselves are pretty disappointing. First of all: :danger: these require their very own dedicated charger. The earlier model charger didn't even change light colors (red all the time) to alert you when the batteries were charged and you were left on your own to leave them in the charger for 6 hours and remove them. The newer chargers available now at least have indicator lights that tell you when the batteries are charged now (turn from red to green). If you decide to try these batteries out, be sure to get one of the newer chargers with them.

Although the initial vaping experience with these used in my Silver Bullet was pleasing, the performance quickly drops off. The typical battery only lasts about 2-3 hours with average vaping, and after using these for about 3 weeks, they quickly dropped in usable battery life to only 45 minutes.

Considering that the re-charge time on these is 5-6 hours, they are not worth the time or money. The experience reminded me of how often I had to change batteries with the cigarette lookalike batteries. These are a poor choice of battery for use in a personal vaporizer for an extended length of time.

I tried these looking for an alternative to a Kicked Silver Bullet. I didn't wish to stack 2- 3.0v batteries in it either for 6v vaping. Overall an expensive trial that I quickly abandoned.

I finally went with a Provari and have never regretted that decision for one second. :vapor:

So the BB with 14500 batteries is not a good PV due to battery life?
No, the 14500 battery is an excellent battery for 3.7v fixed voltage vaping. It allows the BB to hit just as hard as its bigger brother, the Silver Bullet. The 14500 batteries available have either a 600 or 750 mah rating for 6-7.5 hour use. They should have a life expectancy of one year.

The 14500 battery is the same size as a AA battery, so they are small enough to easily carry a couple extra that are charged up and ready to go in a pocket or purse. I'd strongly recommend that they be safely carried in an appropriate plastic battery case to prevent accidental dischage if put into contact with any metal. http://www.rtdvapor.com/BATTERY-CASE_c9.htm

The BB is a desirable PV for someone who recognizes what it is and can do. It is a lightweight, smallish PV which is also built to be very durable and able to survive a lot of rough abuse. It fits easily into a fist to allow stealth vaping if needed. It's batteries are small enough that a couple can easily be carried in a pocket or purse. It is itself small and light enough to be carried in a lanyard much like an eGo can.

If you compare using a BB to an eGo, only one BB need be carried: should a battery drop its charge, just switch out to another fresh small battery. When an eGo drops its charge, an entire new device is needed to replace it. So one device vs multiple devices. Your preference.

I said the 4.8v nimh batteries did not hold their charge long enough to make them a feasible option for the Silver Bullet. That battery will not even fit into the BB.
