I'm thinking about buying a BB and I have a couple of questions. I currently have a Protege v1, and I like it a lot but its starting to have issues and I'm sick of fighting with it. I've been looking around and I think a BB would be a good replacement, but I have a couple of questions before I make the plunge:

1. What is the switch like? My one big gripe about my current mod is that the button is hard to push. I'm hoping that the BB would be a bit easier and more comfortable. Can anyone offer a comparison between the Protege and BB buttons?

2. How heavy is a BB?

3. Can the BB be used at 5v? I think I read somewhere that it could, but I'm not sure if that's true or not.

4. Does AltSmoke still have a first time buyer coupon?

1. The switch is great. It is not like the Protege, I used to get marks on my finger and thumb because I had to press so hard with that one. The switch is a nice "Horn" button, just a little smaller than the meat of your thumb and nice to use.

2. The BB is I would say a little lighter than the Protege, it feels good and balanced in the hand.

3. No, it really can not. There was an order version that was able to, but that run has been stopped.

4. Not as far as I know, I have never seen one.

You will enjoy the BB greatly. Out of all my mods, I turn to the BB first for daily use. This one I would never part with. It seems to give me the best performance with the easiest of use.

The FIRSTORDER coupon code is FIRSTORDER, you have to register and be logged in for it to work. But...it doesn't work on the BB/Omega/SB.

Free Priority Shipping is over $85.

I'll get you an exact weight on it tomorrow for sure. If you don't like it you can always send it back within 14 days for a refund.

On a side note, although some people have run over our mods in the past and they continue to work. Please don't do this on purpose ;P

What? when did that happen? When it first came out it had a longer bottom (slightly, that would accomodate 2 CR2s). Then it had a slightly shorter bottom that would not. and then it came with the longer bottom after that (about a year ago). After the longer bottom returned, you could order just the bottom for those who had purchased during the time it came with the short one. (haha, read that really fast a couple of times).

Now it's back to the short bottom again?

P.S. 2 CR2s will get you "6v" vaping. The BB passthrough will handle any voltage and the Radio Shack power supply has a selection for 5v.

No it is not back to the shorter version, It has remained unchanged. In fact once I changed it to enable it to use the unrecommended protected CR2, I did no further changes. I made inserts that would not allow the CR2 to fit, but then decided to not install them. The only ones that would not fit the protected CR2 battery setup was the first few hundred manufactured. Those have been long gone :)
