If you're just looking to keep fuzz and dirt out of your well, Rita tipped us off that you can put an o-ring around the atomizer and roll it all the way down into the catch cup. It's not quite big enough to completely fill the space, which is good because it allows airflow, but it presents about a 70% barrier to gunk falling into the well. Been doing it since day one with my Grand, and have had no issues with stuff getting in there.

Drip shields don't do their job unless you use a 510-510 adapter and get the bottom o-ring below the bottom of the atty.

If they are working for you any other way on a 510 its pure luck.
