Added note: For the TL;DR version of this, just read the bolded stuff
Okay, so I have been using e-smart clearos for many years on my KR-808D batteries (V2 classics) and have experienced an issue on some recent clearos from a particular vendor that I don't understand. Hoping someone here can help me understand and how I might approach the vendor going forward. Not choosing to state the vendor, but will note I've bought clearos from them for much of the last 2 years and never had problems with their clearos. But recently they were not in stock (for about 2 months), and then this latest batch is when I experienced my issue.
The problem is that some of the clearos will not draw at all. When I press button on my battery, there is literally no sound being made (I'm use to a little crackling) and when I proceed to take a puff, there is absolutely nothing going through. If I switch to a different battery, same thing occurs.
The first time it happened, I treated it as dud clearo, tossed it, and thought nothing of it. Until it happened again. Sometimes, I'll get one fill, then on second refill the problem occurs. On about half the order, I've gotten more than 4 refills. I'm used to getting between 6 and 10 before coils are either too gunked up or I decide I no longer wish to use a clearo. I don't think I've ever had them stop suction, and for sure never had that happen within first 2 fills.
So, I DID contact the vendor and they suggested (via video) a troubleshoot to lift up the center pin, saying it was not connecting properly after refill. I took this to mean center pin on the clearo. I tried that on about 4 of the ones I had issue with. This actually worked on one, but not the others. I told vendor this, they said it should've worked for all. I say I'll try again, and make every effort I can conceive of to lift that pin up, but get nothing. I tell vendor, they are surprised. I let them know I'll gladly return unused ones and if they can get them to work, just send those back, and I'll use them, but I can't get them to work based on troubleshooting they suggest. Around this point, I'm surprised vendor isn't just wanting to replace / reimburse me for problem I'm experience, but I decide to roll with it. I double-check the video they linked to and it is saying to lift center pin for the ego battery. Thing is I don't have ego battery. Other thing is, my working clearos work fine on these batteries, while the non-working ones don't. I let vendor know all this, and we get to point of me sending back the ones that don't work.
I'm all prepared to ship that back today, but while deciding which ones are for sure not working, I try them on my pass-through device (also from V2, so cigalike in nature) and all of the non-working ones work on there. Try the same non working ones on my regular batteries and the problem is still occurring. Try working clearo on the same batts, and they work.
So, I'm at a loss of what is actually occurring and how to proceed. I know the clearos will work on my pass-through, but not on my regular batteries. And that my regular batteries work with all working clearos.
Anyone have idea what is going on here?
And how would you suggest I proceed with the vendor?
I'll also just note that because vendor wasn't immediately receptive to my issue, I have ordered clearos from another vendor, though still think the original vendor is one I'd like to obtain product from.
