So I've got a few Ego kits (a couple Ego-T kits as well) and I enjoy them but I'm getting a lack of consistency in flavor and vapor production, not to mention battery drain is a bit of an issue. $20 for a replacement battery is a bit steep as well.

So that brings me to looking for my first mod. Unfortunately my fiance would castrate me if I went and spent $300 on a state of the art mod so I'm looking for something fairly budget friendly that still produces great flavor and a good, consistent vape with battery life to boot.

I'm not a big fan of box mods, so a tube mod is definitely preferable for me. Something with 510 connections would be excellent.

Any ideas for a good mid level mod for a fairly new vaper?

Thanks so much guys!

One of the most cost effective, commercially produced tube-type PVs that uses standard rechargeable batteries (AND has a 510 connection) is the E-Power. These can be had for around $30 or so. It has an additional benefit of having an replaceable switch/electronics unit.

Alternatively, you could look at purely mechanical mods - the MadVapes 'RoughStack' falls into this category, IIRC.

When it comes to mods- YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!...I guess that goes with everything. But heres the kickers you probably havent considered.
Getting into mods isnt the cheap way to vape. Cheap is egos and LR items. Mods require special batteries, special chargers, and if your like most, you'll want the tanks, auto feeders and all that. And if you step into LR or HV- your juice usage will generally double to quadruple if you have a killer setup. A lot of mod users have to drop nic cause juice intake skyrockets.
Aside from that, once you try a mod, you'll find a quirk, or just a new hobby, and want more more more.
There are cheap mods out there, but that is because the quality isnt great either. One good drop, and you break a switch, threads, etc.
I dont want to distract you from mods, cause I love em..just being honest about what you REALLY get into with em. And having one compatible for any future setups you might like to try- like map tanks, your ego T atties, whatever, is worth consideration. You might have to budget adapters as well.
Lastly, when using mods- you have good batts (for 20 bucks again), or cheap ones for 5 that could be dangerous if you dont know batts and chargers......Or when you go 5 or 6 volt, you'll be buying these batts by the PAIRS, so 6 or 7 bucks goes to 12-14 for equilency of 1 batt (usually small mah)
Thats the full story of mods....Ill let others chime in on good deals...cause I do reos and GG's....never had much luck with cheaper mods like china tube mods or plastic box mods.

Have to agree with you on everything. My juice intake is over 12ml a day, vape 7.4 volts at work and 5 volts at home mostly. The batteries are the key, to a safe home I mean, HAVE to have a protected battery if you don't know whats going on. Lastly the cost, I think I have dropped easy $2000 in the last year since I left the ego and went on this crazy new hobby. I enjoy it and am getting into rebuildable mods now. It has become a life style really and if you have time, don't mind messing with things and some extra cash I say go for it.

If you really want to save yourself some money.......instead of buying this and that to be dissatisfied, and keep moving on to the next "greatest" mod......IF you're into vaping for the long haul.......get a quality made mod:) I love variable voltage and can't go back to a standard voltage.......I spent many $$ figuring this out .......Chief likes a bottom feeder and Reo's are quality bottom feeders....I prefer a vv and a tank:) But if you're in it for the long haul spend a couple extra $$ now instead of nickel and dimeing yourself through $$ Wish someone had told me this 2 years ago......but vaping has evolved soooo much in the last 2 years and will continue to do so.......My nickel:)

Forgot to plug my mods......Provari is all that and then some.......I use a Little Sister vv for stealth at work vaping...... also use a Krimson Kustom vv box.....life is good:)

Well thanks guys! You convinced me to go ahead and save up a few extra bucks to get a quality mod.

Not a big fan of box mods so I'll probably go with a provari and some sort of tank.

Heard great things about the BuzzPro and Infinity Pro as well, so that may be a consideration.

GGs are just too expensive for me, I can justify a $100-150 vape, but not a $250-300 vape. My wife would have my balls!

Thanks for the info guys! Always a lifesaver!

The provari is top of the line as far as mods go. I wish my first mod was a provari, you simply can't go wrong with if you decide to get it.

Make sure you order the extension cap to use the 18650 batteries and buy a couple AW IMR 18650's (1600 mah) batteries to go along with it. Don't get cheap batteries, AW IMR's are the safest, best performing batteries available.

The GG's are just pure sex lol, seen them at vapercon. Amazing stuff but the provari is more useful. The GG was pure bling but what a sweet PV
