Picked up two of the basic eGos. One has the normal wick setup, guessing CE4? Just like you'd find for $30 at any shop. Anyway, the second has a T2 blow tank.

Not a big fan of the CE4, really. Does the job, but seems you have to replace the whole...thing...whereas with the T2 you can replace just the inside....thing...with the wick. Technical terms. Yup. Basic eGo batteries.

I also picked up an eGo Twist, with the dial at the bottom, and an EGo V passthrough. Both of those have tanks with cartomizers. Nothing fancy. One has the black ends, the other is a bit bigger with silver ends. Nothing too fancy, but definitely my favs.

Anyway, for the CE4 and the T2 on the basic eGo batteries, what would you recommend? Something different atop? Different internals? Different batteries aren't really an option right now, and I kinda like the smaller size. They hit pretty smooth, making them ideal for driving so I'm not killing my throat. Flavor blows, and it definitely seems more from the wick setup than the juice. Kinda plasticy and sometimes burnt. I've tipped the juice to avoid the burn. Plastic taste lingers.

So, open to options. Low long term maintenance is good, but more maintenance for less replacement purchases is also fine. The forum hasn't steered me wrong yet, so just throw it out there.

Hi - CE4s are fussy little critters. Sometimes they work fine and other times they burn because it's Tuesday. Keep in mind that all of these things are little pieces of mass-produced plastic. Their performance can vary from design to design, but also from batch to batch of the same design. I personally buy cheap, buy a lot, and expect a high failure rate. Except for batteries, I buy lots of clones; either they work or they don't, which is the same for name brands.

For easy of use, you might want to look at a Vivi Mini Nova. It's basically a top coil clearo, but better than a CE4, and has replaceable heads like the T3.

Your batteries are fine. What you need to do is experiment with different delivery systems (the things on top) to find what works well for you. A big mod won't make any difference until you get the delivery system worked out, they are only a power source. There are lots of things to try: other kinds of clearos, cartos, carto tanks...Baditude has a blog with a brief overview of some of what is available. Unfortunately, you may have to try several and what you like, everyone else may hate.

I made a sort of picture dictionary of the more common juice delivery devices, which you seem to be inquiring about. This includes descriptions, photos in use, and a video demonstration of filling each one. All are a little different, each one prefered by different vapors for different reasons.

Thanks!

Overall I love the cartotanks I have. I'm sure I'll upgrade one and toy with different cartos for them.

As for these two delivery systems, I'll definitely check the blog and see what I can find. I'm fresh off quitting (day 3) so I like to hit it a lot while driving. These little eGo batteries are perfect for that, and perfect for just my thinking moods (debugging vba at work, joy). The size, the lower voltage, the softer throat hit, it all just works. Now I just want cleaner/fresher.

I'll definitely look into the suggestions!

I like CE3s (sometimes called "Phoenix Bottom Coil" cartomizers, even though they are clearos) for out and about. They are small and come in packs of 5. Lots of people hate them, because they sometimes leak. I throw the ones that leak away and enjoys the rest.

CE3 XL Clearomizer [CE3XL] - $8.50 : Vapors Choice, Ecigarettes & Parts

ETA: gotvapes (who calls them Phoenixes) are out of stock for the CE3s, but I just saw they now sell a thread cover to make them more streamlined on an eGo - cool!
