I have tried MBV butterscotch xx ejuice and like it very much. I have tried many times making my own but it is never as good. I can't find any way to get the percentage of flavor and other ingredients they use. Can anyone advise me? Thanks

I'm not sure this will help, as I don't know anything about your preferences.
But I will tell you that they use Flavor West flavorings
FW is know as one of the "weaker" flavorings.
Most venders use between 20 to 30% in their juices, and seeing as how they use FW, try making small (2-3 ml) test batches and adding more each time untill you find the flavor level your looking for.
You may not be using enough.
I can't tell you what % to start with, as my taste buds are shot and I like around 18- 20% as a norm when I DIY.
All you can do is experiment, and know ...you will need more than what you normally use.

Buying a bottle of their Butterscotch flavoring to use as your flavoring is a good idea, because they have already added their "secret" ingredients (if any).
Put your finger over the top of the flavoring, tip it, then rub it on the back of your hand to taste it.
Do the same with whatever other butterscotch flavoring your now using, and see if you can taste the difference,.. if any.
Maybe you can pick out the extra touch ...if any
Also, if the flavoring you already are using is by a different company, buy a bottle of FW Butterscotch flavoring and try it.
That may be the difference right there.
Different companys taste different

Off the top of my head, I hope this gives you some ideas

Thanks very much for info. I didn't know they use Flavor West, I asked them what percentage they use and all they could tell me is they start at 15% and no sweetner added. They could not tell me anything else. I was told by another vendor x is usally 1.5 ml so I will try this. I have wasted lots of ingredients experimenting but guess everyone does before they get it right.

LOL ... It's not a matter of what they "could" tell you ... you need to replace that word with "won't"
They are in business, and are sure not giving out any trade secrets.

Yes, getting it right is a long process, and does cost a few $$$.
I have 8 mods going at all times.
Some are new recipes I'm trying .. some are recipes that have needed a little tweaking, and a re-try, before going into
the "keeper" file or "nope" file, or the "try again" file...
Some are ones I'm trying out that were store bought ones (all about 2-8 months old)

I started DIY a few months ago, and all I do is make one 3ml test recipe after the other.
I stay well ahead of myself, so they all have steeped about 3-4 weeks, to bring out the real flavor.
I figure that by the time I finish all the store bought ones, I' have a good collection
of recipes I really like.
I already have about a dozen in the "Yummy Keeper" file.
I'm also getting better at what goes with what and the % to use.

I orginally bought a "sampler" pkg from just about everybody, and they will still be around for a while,
as I only puff up about 3-4ml's a day
I haven't "bought" any for a long time, but I do have a cupboard full of flavorings now.

There is a lot of trial and error, as the flavor's don't always turn out like the head thought they would.
But it's been fun, and I figure about 3 years from now, I'll be sitting pretty with tons of GOOD juice recipes.
Also a lot more cupboard space left when the "samplers" are all gone.

Have fun and enjoy the ride ... It's a "hobby"
