I've really enjoyed using my subox nano by kangertech but i am sensitive to oxidized nicotine and using the aerotank mini i have been able to avoid the harshness by using a no airflow setting (which the subox nano does not have). Problem is the aerotank's coils can't take much abuse in the way of chain vaping so i'm forced to use very high nic with that clearomizer, consequently not really enjoy a lengthy vape. I am looking for something along the lines of a kangertech subox nano but with the possibility to close off airflow to avoid oxidation. Any recommendations?

If you'd want to avoid oxidation, you'd need a vacuum tank, which would make any juiceflow impossible. Nicotine does react to oxygen, but there will always be oxygen in your tank, even if you had no air flow control.

Oxidized nic turns brown, but i've vaped pure base that was 5 years old, i couldn't tell any difference compared to fresh base. I suspect it's something else you're tasting, maybe you didn't properly clean your new tank, perhaps there's still some machine-oil in it. I've never heard about nic-oxidation-sensitivity before.

theres no machine oil in it, its clean, i know what machine oil tastes like. The juice on the wick just basically turns super peppery after a few hours of disuse. At first its fine and smooth. And it goes away if i "purge" it, which is what i call it when i rapid mouth breath without inhaling to burn off the oxidized nic.

whats your nic level, type of wick, and power setting??
the peppery taste is the nic... even un oxidized nic is peppery...
Ive vaped brand new clear as water nic with just VG and also vaped nic that has turned an amber/brown color mixed with VG and they both get peppery at a hi enuf level.. ( for me its 45+ since I do 36 all the time)

heres a thought... when you leave the vape alone, it has time to fully saturate the wick and when you use it you get a full blown dose of vape/nic, thus the peppery.. once you dry the wick out a tad via the multi puff sessions, the nic drops in concentration since the wick is less saturated and is now delivering less volume hence less nic....

BunnyKiller, that's actually a valid thought. I guess maybe there's nothing i can do. I'd been using 12mg WTA for the last while but i started smoking again because i hate menthol even though it covers up the initial pepperiness. I was wondering if there is any additive that will make the stuff more tolerable like that thing called smooth? Cuz up here in Canada there is one brand of ejuice that never gives me this problem so i'm thinking its either the best nicotine ever or they add something to it. I'm hoping the latter, cuz my WTA is not gonna get any less peppery, i've tried every brand.

EDIT: nic level at least 12 but even 1mg gives me slight issues, my wick is OCC for the kangertech subox nano. Resistance 1.2, power level 11 watts

I don't know what brands of nic you can purchase in Canada, but in Europe there are two main brands: Alchem and Chemnovatic. Alchem is quite peppery, while Chemnovatic has a very neutral clean taste. You could search for a neutral nic-base and mix it with your own flavours, if you can't find any satisfactory ready-made liquids. I can recall vaping some nic-base from xtremevaping.com in the US, which was very neutral, not peppery at all. Might be available in Canada, best search the forum for better advice.

Edit: you might want to try 6mg juice, see if that helps.

I tried an old bottle of eliquid i mixed 3 months ago with the same nic and wta in it that was previously giving me problems, and it was fine, my problem didn't exist, but i'm over the flavour in that bottle. At any rate, this makes me pretty excited because the problem might just be that i hadn't been steeping long enough. I mixed up a handful of bottles and i'm going to let them sit for as long as it takes, then hopefully i'll have enough made to last me til the next batch is done steeping. This doesn't help me right away but i can see a solution in maybe 3 weeks. It apparently takes longer for the wta to temper than it does for the flavours to develop.
