Hi guys,

so far my vaping experience has been both good and bad.

Good because I quit smoking easy. Bad because my gear is a little
unreliable.

My tank is an aspire K1 (fairly cheap) that uses BVC Coils (which don't work half the time X_X)

I wonder what kind of set-up I should get to achieve a good vaping experience
which lasts and doesn't require me to spend a bunch on coils. If such a set-up
exists.

It's a shame because I have very good juice but my gear won't let me taste
it the right way without major tweaking, cleaning, replacements, etc.

Thanks for any suggestions :)

I suggest an istick 50w for the mod which has a 4400 mah battery lasts me 2 days and I'm a heavy chain vaper. For the tank I suggest a subtank mini which has an rba so you can build your own coils. The subtank mini comes with a .5ohm and a 1.2 ohm coil, the rba section with 2 prebuilt coils that are .5ohm a piece of organic cotton an Xtra glass and a screwdriver with Xtra screws also. I use the screwdriver that comes with it to wrap my coils. Finally I suggest this combo because you can get it for a little less than 60 dollars at myvaporstore.com , if you spend 75 dollars there you get free shipping also.

So if you get the istick 50w and subtank mini some wire and cotton and a little something else you spend 75 dollars get free shipping and will have enough kanthal and cotton to build coils for a good while probably 3-6 months of coils.

I suggest 26 gauge kanthal for use with the subtank mini rba.

Good luck and happy vaping

Okay if you simply want reliable gear I would suggest you use something like a Reo. http://www.reosmods.com/index.php
There is a long time Reo group right here on ECF who would be glad to help you sort through using the device if need be.
The Reo's incorporate a "all in one bottom fed system" which is incredibly reliable and performs well!
I own several!
You can use a plain old school atty or set up a low profile atomizer like one of the "reomisers" if you like.
It eliminates the need to buy coils or getting a tank you hate!

Shoot me a pm if I can help answer any questions about any device.
If you just want a reliable tank try the "GS Air Atomiser" from Eleaf available at sweet-vape.com
It uses a different type of coil than the Kanger tanks and is very reliable.

Sounds interesting, do you know if some vape shops can rebuild your coils for you?

I'd like to skip the trouble of doing it myself.. (lazy me :p)

Um yes I'm sure most shops will help you but I just built a coil in like 10 minutes I could've been faster but I'm a perfectionist. You can just build a 5 wraps around the screwdriver that comes with it and wick it in under 5 minutes. I build mostly twisted coils bc I like a hot vape. I think once u start building you will have fun experimenting with coils

Many B & M's will rebuild coils for you but charge a fee usually between $5-10.00
It is fairly straight forward to learn how to rebuild. :D
In fact the shop near you should be willing to teach you.
Vape safe and if they suggest you go sub ohm or use a .15 coil?

Find another place! lol

Yes I agree be safe and with the subtank mini and istick building around. .5ohm is a nice all around vape

Check out rip trippers subtank mini build video on YouTube and you will see how easy to build a coil is.

Do not let the stores talk you into buying gear you aren't ready to use or anything you don't have experience with.
Your main objective should be to find out if you like:
1) a cool vape
2) a hot vape
3) VV/VW or mechanical mods {get what you like} iStick 40W is great as Shannon suggested!
4) Find a tank that is easy for you to use!
# 1 rule is to always vape safe!
Here is a link to ten shops in the Montreal area!

Congratulations on making the switch!

My friends has an iStick which works great, I might go with that since it's pretty cheap for the quality.

I think I prefer a cool vape, I also don't really like the fake throat hit effect of PG. I like it smooth.

I'm always safe but my coils are faulty 1/2 the time, it really sucks because I know aspire is a good company.
I just can't stand these faulty coils and buying them over and over again seems stupid haha

Cool, thanks guys, I'll sure be looking into it now.

Alot to learn for a newbie like me :p

At 30$ for 2 packs of coils, I think it's most def. the better option.

Yes lol I haven't bought any coils in months for my subtank mini. And I suggested the 50w istick. The 40 watt istick also has temperature control but imo temperature control is meh not worth it I have the evic vt and ego one mega tank and I like the subtank mini way better the evic vt is a great mod but I don't care for tc.

Like I said cotton and 30 feet of kanthal are 4-5 dollars each so dl for 10 dollars you can build 50 or so coils maybe more probably more if you like a cool vape you can just do more wraps to give you more resistance and put less power to the coil. And get a decent experience. I know some people don't care for the subtank mini and say the flavor is a bit muted but for the price and what you can do with it I love it I don't see myself buying any other tanks maybe I might but an rda or more subtanks lol. I'm very happy with my istick 50w and subtank mini setup.

Check out some reviews and make an informed decision if u have any questions you can pm me

That's certainly a scam and the chain store where I live will sell you a 6 pack of 0.6 ohm claptons for $12. Which is still steep in my opinion but sure beats the $5 to $10 some shops want for a simple build that's so simple with a Kuro Coiler, even a caveman can do it.
