One big question
Which pipe tobacco does he enjoy
Aromatics,Burley's or virginias in his pipes
Does he sip his smoke when he smokes or does he take it directly into the lungs this will make a big difference in juice and tank he will enjoy

I smoked pipes for years before I quit

He uses a mix. 2/3 Seville and 1/3 Turkish blend

Welcome and glad you joined. Unfortunately vaping is not like smoking, the time and effort put into it is proportionately gratifying to an equal amount of time and effort. Getting vape gear for someone else rarely works, especially if the smoker is not motivated or indifferent.

Thank you for the links! He does want to quit. I'm doing the legwork on here because he doesn't use the internet. He's willing to take the time to learn about it.

The most important thing to remember is vaping is almost completely scalable. If there is something that you do not like, chances are it can be fixed or improved upon.

If the tobacco "flavored" juice doesn't work for him, you might consider getting some NET's. Natural Tobaccos - Part Deux This thread was started about 3 years ago so some of the suppliers listed may not be around anymore.

The down side is, much more expensive and much harder on the coils. (If a coil lasts 10 days with regular juice, it may last 3-4 with NET's.)

The expense can be greatly reduced by making your own.
Tobacco extraction using heated Ethanol
Best tobacco for flavor extraction

No getting around the coils though. :(

I've been making NET's for several months now and they are 95% of what I vape. (Because they are sooooo much better than any tobacco flavored juice I've tried :))

If he enjoys the feel of a pipe you may want to try and buy him something he is comfortable with to start. You can pick him up a varable wattage pipe and use just about any tank.

Joyetech Elitar Pipe TC Starter Kit - VapoRider
SMOK Guardian III 75W TC E-Pipe Starter Kit (Guardian III & Micro TFV4 Plus)

These are a little more pricey but very nice pipes. I own one.
Order-DNA 60 PIPES

There are some very nice pipes available

Good luck on your quest!
